First one failed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Normally, a new HD of this type works on installation. First one I bought failed to spin up causing a second trip to the store. Once installed and working, just another average desktop HDD.

Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I could go back in time and tell myself that swapping out a drive and cloning the OS was going to get this easy. The Acronis Software made it a breeze - And the drive is a smoker.

Western Digital Provides Drive Image Software
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The drive works well no issues since installation. One of the best advantages of this brand is they provide you the opportunity to download a free imaging software so you can easily clone your old hard drive onto this drive.

Works great for RAID backup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a RAID 1 failure after 8 years from my previous Western Digital Blues running 24/7. After running 8 years strong I figured might as well go back to what was working great. installed both hard drives and created the RAID 1 array. Swapped them out and copied the good hard drive data over to the new master one and 7 hours later after recreating the array we were in business. Lets hope they last this long again. Would buy again.

Always buy the WD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's always more competitive in price than a Maxtor, and in the end the same great product. I've yet to have to replace one of these drives under warranty.

Great hard drives
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a lifelong Western Digital user. They have made excellent hard drives since the 90s. If I ever had a problem, they were easy to work with. I highly recommend their drives. I just wish the performance drives were a tad cheaper though.
