    My old Apple Time Machine backup drive gave up the ghost. Picked this up. Had to reformat for Mac. (which I knew when I bought). Set up flawlessly without a hitch.

    This is my second ext. hard drive. The first was another manufacturers 3TB unit which was a nightmare. It continually shut down without any warning or notification, and required either a system reboot or HD power off/on. The Power Book provides consistent and quiet operation. It is also faster.
