I had been using Dropbox for my storage needs, but after doing a cost/storage analysis. You can't beat 4TB for this price. I can now store all my important files, pics, and videos in one place today and into the future. Only downside is the slow file transfer rate between the device and computer, but not a deal breaker for me.

The setup was super easy and it works pretty much as I expected it to. It may not have the best speed performance, but it fits my needs and it wasn't super expensive.

This is definitely one of the best purchases i've ever made; it's so easy to setup and to manage; the only negative thing is that you can not run Plex Media Server on the device itself, but i guess it's because this is not a top of the line NAS , is more like an entry user-friendly device, but it would have made this a MUST for everyone; one quick advice if you plan on having a lot of media stored on the device itself, maybe go for the 6tb, and another thing is that you CAN shutdown the device, but it must be from the WD Quick View -> shutdown option, on the Browser GUI , there is no option to shutdown, just a quick tip

I was looking for a network device like this to access my music, pictures and videos anywhere I am with Wi-Fi and so far this is great! I never trusted corporate clouds like Google or Apple with all of the breaches that they experience each year. I read a lot of negative comments about this product but it all depends on your broadband connection from home or wherever you'll have this device setup. I can't give this device 5 stars because I haven't tried the automatic continous backup function yet but as far as accessing your music, videos etc from anywhere in the world this is a must have device!

Very easy to setup, easy to access, can share and transfer files with no problem. I have been using it for over a month with no problems yet. Only negative is the slow transfer speed but its using wifi so that can be expected. Overall it was reasonably priced and does exactly what I expected.

WD My Cloud external storage is an appropriate hard drive for connectivity over the web through any computer utilizing the company's portal, without any physical connection to the hard drive apart from it being connected to a router. The space is massive, and expandable. Excellent product.

We have at our office the WD EX2 could and we love it, so I decided to get the home version for myself and I love it too. very easy to install and use. and you have what you need when you need it and anywhere you want it.

Drive is very easy to setup and not too bad to use. Wish it showed up like a normal drive when I'm on my home network with it. Only used it for about a month now and it works perfect with no problems. Setup took maybe 10 minutes

I had an old Stora that was flaky working with both Mac and Windows network shares. The My Cloud works reliably.

I was looking for a backup drive where we could backup our data from phones, mobile devices and laptops. This is easy to setup, to use, and to maintain.

Was a very easy setup and works as I expected it too. I did not setup cloud access as I do not need it so can not comment on that aspect.

We purchased this cloud after reading many reviews on many different systems. It was very easy to connect to and install. We haven't had any issues so far.

This is one of those products that when it works its great. I initially had a ton of issues getting this going. I had issues like my WD app wouldn't work when outside My home network, or I would just get a ton or error messages that wouldn't allow me to connect. I got to the point that I was ready to return the drive. Also, customer support is kinda useless. They basically walk you through very basic issues that you can walk through yourself by going to their website and looking up the problem. In other words their IT people are not all that savvy. Anyhow, I finally was able to get it working and its been working with no issues for about 4 months now and its been great. I do no recommend it for someone who has very basic computer knowledge because this will give you many headaches. Overall I'm very satisfied.

I have the cloud mirror and this is my back up to my back up. I'm satisfied with my purchase and I feel safe in storing my content on this device. I haven't had issue with my cloud mirror that I've had since July of last year and this brand in CLOUD format seems trustworthy.

This was a great way to store all my movies and music and access from any of my devices. Plus, with it being on sale when I bought it, it was a great deal!

It appears to be a good device, but I haven't had enough time to really setup everything that I can do. It's easy to setup, but a little confusing.

With 4 computers in my household I was constantly worried about data loss. With this unit set up on my home network everyone can use it to store data, back up important files and increase capacity. It was very easy to set up and use. I am currently digitizing all our personal photos from the past 46 years of marriage and this is a great place to put them. Once complete I will make DVD copies for all my family so everyone will have all our pics. This is my 5th WD storage solution. I keep growing and buying larger.

Easy to set up physically, but that where it ends. This product has a learning curve that I would rate as 8 out of 10. And 10 isn't good. Once installed the owner is directed to WD website to download "Learning to Use" software. Also instructional videos are available. The drive needs to "think" which makes it slow to use. Large amounts of data at one time almost drives the device crazy. Learning curve, slow transfer, and allowing access to relatives is also hard to figure out. Maybe once I learn to use all the features, the pain of setting up will be worth it.

The My Cloud was easier than I expected to set up. It's also somewhat easy to transfer information from another device, however, it can take quite a lengthy time to have a successful transfer. Overall, this was well worth the money considering we're backing up music, pictures and other files that we can access anywhere at anytime through our smart phone.

We've been using external USB drives to back up our computers, moving it from computer to computer. Of course, we didn't back up as often as we should. Now, we have things to automatically backup to this drive, from all of our computers, without having to move hardware.
