I bought this item to try and centralize my photos. My wife and I just had a kid and apparently the cool thing to do is take lots, and lot of photos. My wife takes about 11K photos of the kid a year and she finally maxed out her phone so this has become the housing unit. It has a lot of space and for the price it was worth it. My only complaint is while transferring all the photos you have to ensure that your file system is up constantly. If your computer goes to sleep it pauses the download. I haven't been able to figure out how to resume the download, so I usually wind up starting all over.

Works great, but contains minimal written information, you need to go online and download their User Manual at //support.wdc.com, a pdf file that is 126 pages. I would recommend reading before I purchase the product to see if the device can accomplish what you need it to do.

This external works very well, and has made saving data in my home more secure and easy to access!

Easy to setup, works great. Although they get you to buy the 20 upgrade to make it easier to backup, not a big deal.

Bought this my cloud to backup all my fils in one place. But love the fact that I can access my files anywhere.

Easy to setup for basic settings and advanced customization options also avalaible. Username/password authentication is passed through from Windows 10 so I recommend using the same username/password combination as your computer logins if using in a small home network setting.

Works flawlessly across the Internet from outside of my home I can access my videos and photos from anywhere. Set up was intermediate, but device is very reliable. I plan to purchase another one with two drives in it because it has additional features that the single Drive unit does not.

I bought this instead of spending extra for a larger hard drive on my new laptop. I have a lot of music and pictures, so this was a great option for me. Setting it up on my home network was fast and easy; I was done within fifteen minutes. Transferring files from my windows machine was a total pain, but when I switched to my Mac, it went quickly. There are times when it drops off my home wifi network for no reason I can find, but I can usually reconnect within minutes. It's a pain when I'm trying to transfer files or sync with iTunes, but not a deal breaker. Overall, I'm happy with the device.

Who needs off site storage that might be compromised when you can have your own cloud? Not me! I now have my own cloud storage that I can password protect and manage myself without anyone else touching. Setup was as simple as plug in and connect. Can't beat it for the price either.

Product is very user friendly and easy to install. I love the convenience of accessing my documents remotely.

the WD my cloud 4tb external hard drive is great for storing your media.

best feature is that you can access your files from anywhere. We are always taking pics and i normally have to gather everyones phones to get all the pics and then upload to my pc. With this, they upload it themselves to the Cloud and done. Once month or so, i do the auto backup to make sure.

We use a series of these drives for server backup. They are reasonably fast and reliable. They are really designed for home use with the many packages includes like Plex server. But for basic backup, this works well. For the "small budget", this is a good network attached storage option. Only downside is it is nearly impossible to disable/delete the public folder. But there are postings on the internet that, at least, make it write protected.

The product description states it can stream media to compatible devices, which it does, but I find the interface very frustrating and not very easy to use. I initially thought it would make a great substitute for streaming music around the home but it's so cumbersome to use we just listen to Spotify or YouTube instead. Transferring files and automatic backup for phone media works great though and the capacity is more than enough to backup our photos and videos. I would recommend this for backup storage but not for media streaming.

It's easy to setup and have on your network to use. The Mycloud is great for receiving files when your away.

No problems. Easy setup. Worked out of the box. If you have a home or small business network this is a deal.

4TB is pretty plenty for me. I wish it was easier to set up access outside of the network, but I guess this is a good trade off for better security.
