You need know something about the type/speed/transfer of your network and how performance it for have good results.

We have many computers and have set this up as a media server and cloud sync in our home. Very effective device.

Attached this to router. Wirelessly connects to WD TV live media device. Videos on this drive. Videos also on additional drives that plug into this device and all are easily accessible thru WD TV Live device. Music on another drive also plugs into this device and accessible thru WD TV. I use this entirely for media access.

We had an older 1 tb network storage drive and it wasn't working well, kept having access issues. So far so good.

My wife and I recently got the 4TB MyCloud NAS and we love it. It's great to be able to pull data from it to show off photos, etc. without having to keep the info on your phone's local storage. WD tech support is fantastic!

It is compatible with both PC and MAC. I love the capacity it makes storage very easy and accessing from any computer in my office works.

Good product and concept. Definitely works (with PC, Mac, Mobiles). Had some trouble hooking up a 3tb hard drive but was finally able to make it work. Has some minor issues. Otherwise, it does the job. Good backup/storage device. Had it for 1-2 months.

I was looking for alternatives to Apple's Time Capsule for Time Machine backups, and I didn't need the Time Capsule's WiFi router features. I bought two of these MyCloud units. They seem to work fine after 3 weeks, and have not dropped off requiring reboots like my previous Time Capsules.

I've owned several external hard drives, and currently have 10Tb of external disk space. Works great and last a long time. The MyCloud online application runs a bit slow, but overall I'm as pleased with this as I could be.

Just disappointed in the no frills access via the internet. Thought they might used as a mounted style networked drive for computers that were shared via the internet, but only can access files via proprietary WD software that doesn't serve the primary purpose for which I bought the drive. Still didn't return it for the sheer size and ease for storage. Hopefully they'll update it.

This drive is very easy to set up. Plugged it into the AirPort Extreme router and all the computers (MACs) on the LAN detected the drive. File copy speeds locally are impressive, the drive runs very quietly, and the ability to have a local cloud accessible to mobile devices is very convenient. Setting up access to the drive when not on the LAN was painless and finished inside of 5 minutes. Option of attaching an extra hard drive via built in USB 3.0 directly to this NAS is attractive to expand beyond the 4TB capacity.

I needed to get tons of pics off my iPhone since I was starting to have issues with apps, etc due to filling up my storage limit. I really wanted something external and not rely solely on other things like iCloud, Shutterfly, etc. I feel that MyCloud was exactly what I needed and it was easy to set up and start moving photos and videos right away. Now I automatically upload pics everyday to maintain my freed up storage and then able to access those pics from anywhere

For me, setup wasn't completely intuitive. I am replacing an original Windows Home Server with this drive, so I had some preconceptions on how the drive should be setup. Once I got past those, the setup procedure made sense. I access the drive from a MAC, Windows PC and various iOS devices and it has worked great.

A simple, easy-to-configure and decent performance home cloud / NAS server. Interacts well with the Mac OS environment.

Pretty easy to use. We have an all Macintosh network and works fine with it. Although setup can be fairly easy - some of it is a little convoluted. Updates can easily be set as automatic or manually. With Mac - access via the finder or with Western’s App. Western even has a setup to sync and/or setup for TimeMachine via your network/ meaning it doesn’t have to be directly connected to your Mac - like Apple’s Time Capsule.

it is good for uploading data; backup etc..but I still prefer drop box or Amazon/iCloud type of interface.

Easy to setup and works great, Plenty of storage. I got it use with my Plex media server and everything setup very easy

It took me just a few minutes to set the drive on m my network and it works fine. I was able to back old photos and the entire contents of my computer in no time at all. Best backup drive I have ever owned !

So far so good. No issues. Once I got it setup it was easy to apply.

Definitely works well for what I bought it for, and accessibility between computer/phone/tablet is great!
