The instructions were not the clearest, but I was able to work thru it. I know that I am not getting the most of what it can do but at least its backing everything up.

Installed in minutes. Easy retrieval of my documents anywhere.

I'm using this unit to backup two Windows 10 systems and 1 MacBook Pro. I use the backup SW from Windows and Mac (Timemachine). All works great. I haven't tried the backup SW that comes with the unit. To control the unit, I use the web based GUI via the IP, i.e. http://192.168.0.x. I think you can use the name as well if your network is set up correctly. I'm serving up a few videos from the media server to my Roku 3. On the NAS box, I just plopped my videos under some folders, enabled the media server via the GUI and the videos showed up on my Roku. This worked well once I had the video in the correct format for my Roku, but the Roku is very picky about the format. I'm also using this as an NFS server to move files around to my various computers. Some of the files such as raw format 24-megapixel images and movies are quite large. This all works fine as well and was very easy to set up via the GUI. Unless you have very fast WIFI, I recommend using a wired gigabit connection for the initial backup. Otherwise, the backup could take quite some time. This is not a limitation of the NAS box, but of my "N" network. The "add a drive" feature looks good, but I haven't tried it yet. I expect to be able to easily add a 3 TB drive via the USB3 port when the 4 TB gets close to full.

This works pretty good, the interface is a little odd and every once in a while I have to reconnect it to my computer, but other than that I love having everything instantly saved for me

It would be great if you didn't have to reset power all the time

I love the capacity and some of its applications. The only issue I have is the drive is sometimes not available when I'm outside of my home network. I'm sure there is a fix I just haven't discovered it yet.

It's really nice to basically have my own "cloud" that I know is mine, private and secure. Really easy to set up and even easier to use.

This is a really nice way to get network storage with little effort or knowledge of networking. Plug it into the network, fallow the reasonably simple instructions, and you have access from all of you devices.

This was easy for me to set up (all other invited members had a hard time signing up). The desktop and iOS app work great too! Only thing is I wish I could connect by a cable too, but it's not too bad that you can't.

It's good for backing up files. The interface is clunky, and the speed is abysmal. But for the price, it's not bad for storing files you don't want to lose.

I thought it would be more like other disks, but it wasn't. I still can't quite figure out what is more public and what isn't. I'm sure this is my lack of tech skills, but I was hoping that it would work like other disks I have so that I could figure it out without much challenge.

Setup was easy. Having all my files backed up continuously without having another thing plugged into my computer is worth every penny.

It gives you a massive amount of storage that is excessable from all your devices, without yearly fee's for small amounts of storage.

Western Digital knocks it out of the park! Setup and use is far easier than I anticipated, both connecting the drive and application setup on smart phones. Was done in roughly 20-30 minutes with drive and two smart phones. Highly recommended for those who want to save money over time with cloud services and be responsible for and in control of your data.
