Was easy to set up and the remote access features are good.

Simple to setup on a home network. Simple to configure to your PC's. Simple to connect mobile devices to. A solid product that I would recommend to anyone looking for easy access to storage.

Provides easy access to files over multiple devices

I am not tech savvy. The set up was very easy. Step by step online directions. I still didn't trust that my pictures where updated and I cked today. They are. I am so happy I bought this.

Original packaged unit was unpackaged and "rattle-ey" - exchanged without issue at Best Buy and second unit was up and running in no time and performed a complete system backup for me. Value for money, ease of use and not overly large footprint leads me to recommend this device to others looking at a solution for an external hard drive.

This is a second one I bought to gift to my daughter. She wanted the same after seeing me using it. Excellent product.

I would purchase this again, I had read that you shouldn't do the update but it updated anyways and still works the same no complaints.

I hooked this drive up to my gigabyte switch, installed the software and tried to backup one of my computer to it. The transfer speed was < 1 MB/sec. It took overnight and still wasn't complete. WD recommends to move large amounts of data via a USB connection. Is that really how I want to use a NAS?? I did some research and it seems many people have this problem. Wish I had brought it back. Instead, I just use it to share small files. Great use for a 4 TB drive :(

You could easily do this without the MyCloud from WD, but why would you want to? With MyCloud you get all of the capabilities in one seamless package. Personally use this for: Timemachine backup iOS device backups Movie and music storage and streaming

I recently upgraded my home computer and laptop. So I figured I would go ahead and install a personal cloud to store, share and backup all my important files. I asked the tech rep a few questions and presto! The WDMyCloud 4TB drive would be perfect! And it was - for about three weeks. Setup, install, file transfer, user setup all went fine. I was only able to use remote access twice while actually on the road. Then the drive would not connect. I came back home, reset the drive and it worked fine again. So I figured maybe it was just a power outage while I was on the road. Until two days later it dropped off again. Now I cannot connect on any of my devices and can't even log into the WD MyCloud Control Panel. Very frustrating and WD is ABSOLUTELY NO HELP. 4-Stars? Are you kidding? I gave it ONE STAR because I couldn't give it ZERO!!! I'm so dumb I can't believe it. There are a TON of complaints all over the web about this worthless product and I was stupid enough to just go with what the BB rep said.

Since i bought this, i have not had any issues with the connectivity of the cloud service. Definitely would recommend this to others.

This backup drive has been a great addition. I have it set up to back up multiple computers and all of our smartphones. Setup is fairly simple and the app that can be downloaded is okay.

The set up was very easy however you have to use chrome or firefox. The only issue I had was in order to see the large amount of folders and files on the drive I had to use firefox.

It works well enough but is fairly limited in how I can be viewed from off-site preventing programs from reaching back to the cloud and accessing things like databases or light room libraries.

I should have bought a WD hard drive in the first place.. this was purchased to replace a lesser quality drive that had failed. WD makes it super easy to set up and start uploading content to.. It's a great feature that I can access all of my documents from a mobile device or while out on the road. Very happy with this drive!

This is a great drive. Like the white color case cover and blue on light indicater. 4 gb is more than enough to cover my computer storage needs. Best Buy had a good price on this drive.

Unlike WD products of old, this one set up easily and is now my data backup storage.

Michael in geek squad saved the day for me! I have had terrible luck with buying computers from Best Buy in the last 3-4 years. I would purchase one and they would have significant amount of trouble each time. Spent way to much time in Geek Squad then I should have. Each computer seemed to have compatibility problems to hard drive problems. Computer was constantly slow and would freeze up. I spent way too much money to fix new computers then I should have. After 3rd hard drive for my less than 2 year laptop (that's not used very often and only for picture project's), Michael got my computer working the way it should work. Thank you Michael!!
