Great device for streaming but does not have support for .mkv files. Also Plex is not supported.

There do seem to be limits to what it can host as media server software. I thought it supported Plex but I didn't read carefully. On well.

This NAS device has met all my data storage needs and expectations. Very easy to setup and with the apple timemachine feature built-in it makes keeping my MacBook Pro backed up very simple.

Purchased this item on sell, I was not sure how easy it would be to set up. Was able to get all my information on the cloud and access from anywhere. Great item.

After hooking this item up on my server, I am able to back up all my PC's on a scheduled time and it has more than enough space to hold all my important backups with great speed as well.

Works great for storing home movies and playing through mobile, tablet and apple tv using vlc

Simple set up and the wireless uploading is so convenient. If you love your family and take tons of pictures and videos, this is a great way to save memory on your phone and everyone can share it!

This cloud is so awesome. It connects to our existing hard drive through USB and can stream all our movies to all 3 of our DVD players! Not to mention holding all of our pictures and documents.

Needed to replace a dead 3Tb after moving. The newer models like this added a nice USB port to expand. Couldn't justify the the 6Tb for the price difference, so this will have to do for now.

It's easy to use once set up on all your devices. Doesn't work as well with IOS, works better with android for mobile use. Like when I want to stream movies to my iPhone I have to make sure it's a MP4 otherwise it won't stream to my iPhone. It's also easier to moves files to and android and I haven't found out how to move files from wd cloud to an iPhone.
