I feel like the product page was a little misleading, it doesnt have the option for plex like it claims. The more expensive version works with plex, not this one. Although I just mapped it as a network drive, and manually input that into the plex app running locally on my pc. Thus it works good enough for what you paid for it

The setup was a bit more convoluted than I expected but once it was up and running it worked as advertised. Mobile apps make it easy to access the drive content from anywhere.. Note: by default the unit ships with sleep mode on in the settings which causes the drive to power down and it's hard to wake it up again over a network. Support line said that you need to set this to off in order to ensure that you can access the drive anytime.

This will help in reducing my backup timing and be more organized to save all my data. It is very easy to use and saves lot of efforts.

Got it on deal and was able to set it up easily. One time setup to Automatically sync to your mac and other devices. No issues so far.

I also have a 4TB Seagate network drive that this out performs

I was dreading setting it up and having to call the special set up line for help but it was easy and no problems. It's a little confusing where to go for access as there seems to be links in quite a few places. Transfers are very fast and easy from IPhone, IPads and mini.

I'm not computer savvy but was able to hook this up without any problems. No more lost files or pictures when I have a hard drive failure.

What's there to say? I've had various WD products over the years and they have always been dependable. This drive is no different. Getting it connected to the network was pretty easy. The installer got hung during setup but unplugging the drive and letting it reset seemed to fix the problem. Works like a charm now.

I am very satisfied with my purchase of this external hard drive and recommend this product to anyone who needs to free up some space.

Setup is easy and simple. I have been using it for a while now and have had no problems connecting it or getting it to work well for me.

I like how you can backup multiple computers and phones to the external drive wirelessly. It was rather difficult to find the software to download to my computers that allows you to backup your information to the drive. I had to google search it, since the company would not supply it on their website for free.

These are good Mac friendly alternatives to Apple's Time Capsule for automated Time Machine backups. Once set up and on the network, Time Machine sees these with no problem. I've had a pair running for more than 2 months now at 2 locations with no issues at all. My earlier Time Capsules had to be restarted every other week (not sure why), so these "alternatives" have been more reliable. Unlike the Time Capsules, these MyCloud NAS units do not have a build in WiFi router, but I did not any routing features.

I got this to do TimeMachine backups for my Mac. The drive works great! I love not having to plug my Mac in to get it to backup

Great device, fast upload and interface. The app works seamlessly. Good security firewall and so far no lost pictures or issues.

Up and running in no time. Easy to access from anywhere! More storage than what I will need, but nice security "just in case."

Excellent NAS device, easy to set up. iPhone app works great as well. Would give it 5 stars but having problems with the built in Time Machine feature. It does not appear as an available drive on the MacBook Pro for some reason. Tried many tweaks but still nothing. Works great for the Windows PC's though.

I've already had problems accessing my files I have stored. You need a third party to access your files. You can't just put them on there and get them off. I am still going to buy flash drives to store my stuff because I don't feel like it's reliable.

I wasn't sure if I wanted a wireless external hard drive but I am so happy I got it. Everything is linked together with all my files

This product has it all for a self- monitored cloud. Easy to use with great app support for PC to IOS users. Great product.
