A great way to share files with relatives. The setup and interface was easy to understand.

I wanted to love this thing. I really did. However there are some key features missing. For starters, you can't simply plug in the device to your laptop via USB, it has to be connected via the network. Additionally the Android app is lacking when compared with Amazon Prime or other cloud providers. It doesn't allow you to select which photo folders to automatically back up so only your main photos get backed up. Folders for WhatsApp photos or videos still need to be backed up manually ... which kind of defeats the whole point. Still it's a good concept and if Western Digital actually takes the time to update its app (doesn't seem like they will), then this could be great.

Great as a starter NAS for dipping your feet into home network storage. Cloud access is easy to use and setup with the tools they give you. Easy to setup folder permissions are easy to setup also. My only gripe is it will not allow for multiple time machine backups but it doesnt bother me enough to remove one star. If you need a NAS with RAID and other advanced ability like using it as a plex server this is not for you.

Easy to setup. These are great but I recommend replacing older USB HD's every few years.

The product has a poor amount of features compared with Lenovo EZ Media & Backup Center that is cheaper and with much more features. In web you can't see media, you can't define time for sleep-modem, etc. Besides that, it works fine and it has a very good HDD technology.

I really love WD My Cloud. I enjoy the fact that I can stream my files to my mobile devices from anywhere.
