This is my second my cloud. Works great with all apple products and more.

Its easy to setup, but there are too many configurations which have to be set to make it work correctly. ideally these should have been easier to set up for a home user.

Got good deal for 4Tb online storage and backup space until WD server was offline. I had to drive 22 miles home because can't access file from work. Really disappointed

The WD Website says this supports Plex Media Server as an app. After further research, I was able to find on third party websites that it is not supported except on the dual drive models. Otherwise, product is decent.

Using it for DVR feature of HDHomerun and working just fine. Also setup to backup a few Apple products and that works pretty seemless. Nice NAS capabilities in a box that is normally the size of just and external drive.

Extremely easy to set up and use. Very dependable so far when used as NAS. Transfer speeds are far below what I expected for an ethernet connection to a gigabit router. Perhaps something I need to adjust in a setting that I've missed.

Pretty neat device. Just need an internet connection and you have access to your "Stuff". I was actually able to map drive and copy 40 gig across the internet with ease. Un-map it to keep it protected from ransom-ware... your stuff can be safe and backed up cheap with no monthly fees.

I'm a Front-End Developer, my reason for purchasing was to easily store and access my projects and resources across my multiple devices locally. I also needed an additional way to backup my computers. This has helped with all that and more. If you're someone who works across multiple devices this is a great option to help sync data, especially large heaps.

I've got the first gen now along with this second gen model. There is a huge improvement over the speed and transfer rate without having to cripple the features of it's intended use via ssh. Did not have to make any changes to the OS system and it's still faster than GEN models. If I needed a real NAS, I'd look elsewhere but for my intended use it is fine.

The auto backing up of my MacBook works seamless and in the background. Only thing I would liked to have had in it would have been a USB port to plug it into my router. I'm very limited in eithernet ports.
