Works great, Access it anywhere!! GREAT PRODUCT...

Works fairly well and holds a lot of files. However, I've had to do a fair amount of troubleshooting to try to do the basic functions I wanted it for: remote access and backup storage. The remote access has to be reset from the home network and can't be reset when you're away from the network. Also, I haven't been able to back it up using another drive. Now, I don't mind doing a bit of troubleshooting, but I really wasn't planning on having to dig into forums to have to solve it.

The WD 4Tb My Cloud hard drive backs up everything you save automatically from every device you have. And, you can retrieve anything backed up from another device. All you need is the file name. You no longer need a direct wired connection to safely backup your files. What could be better than that?

WD used to be synonymous with quality however I have to say not so any longer, at least in this case. The first unit was DOA out of the box. The second unit worked great... for awhile thought the interface software looks nothing like those on line or in the WD tutorials. After a couple weeks, could no longer access the drive remotely. After a month and a half of searching for and trying various options, could not resolve issue. Unit could only be accessed locally. Then today, activity light (normally a steady blue) is solid red and the device cannot be accessed at all. Unrecoverable even after power cycle. Will attempt to return today. Bummer.

This home cloud storage drive is good but can be difficult to use. Also not ideal for large file transfers, at least not as far as I've been able to figure out.

Nice product for the price. A bit tricky to setup and use. Sure makes it convenient to store all of our pictures in one place, and access them remotely.

This is a decent Network Storage device. The price is a little steep, especially with modern routers that have USB built into them.

Not my best purchase by a longshot! Too many issues to list but one in particular is data transfer....it is supper slow!!!!! Taking back if i cant find a good use for tgis.

The Product is good and has a large storage capacity. But it is difficult to access it when you are not home.

After taking a lot of time to set this up and transfer data from an old hard drive, we've been able to direct settings so that data transfers easily and efficiently.

The plan was to use this, based on my conversations with BB sales team, to backup selected files & folders on my iMac. After installing the software, it became an NAS set-up which is designed to create image files mostly. Not what I wanted. The software interface was not so great & not very Mac OS friendly. I think is would be best suited for a Windows machine so I returned it, no problem.

This product may be OK for simple file and media sharing, but does not work for IP camera video storage. It randomly disconnects the cameras. It also has a poor feature set. You cannot set quotas on a per share or per user basis. This product is meant for people with very simple needs doing simple file storage. I did not try out the DLNA media server functions, because that wasn't why I bought it.

Very good product for someone wants to access contents remotely and also save the data.

The device is nice because it has a high capacity. But setting it up for backups and as a mapped drive are not simple.

This replaced my dropbox account which was a monthly fee. This will pay for itself in a year. You can save files and music to the drive and access it from anywhere through an internet connection. You can setup folders and share them out to specific users. Wish I had this sooner!

Great to store large files and make them accesible from anywhere, even to stream media over the internet, doesn't support to much traffic (read/write) at the same time.

I know it's a network drive but it would be nice if it had a way to connect to computer through USB not Ethernet.

Not too network savvy, but wanted a cloud that I could use to access my music from anywhere. This fit the bill. Plug and play right out of the box. My Bose systems recognize it, as well as my phone, ipads, etc. I can even stream music via bluetooth to my car while I'm on the road!

Great cloud based drive. Fast and easy setup. Once you set the static IP address you are good to go. I use this as my backup drive and backup my main system with Veeam. can't go wrong and because it is a cloud base even if I catch a crypto virus I know all my data is safe.

I have always have my doubts about the cloud environment. This is your own personal cloud and you don't need to use one-drive, sky-drive or any other cloud provider.
