A great storage device that I use to backup all the data from multiple computers. I wanted a wireless storage solution and this device does the trick. It requires an Ethernet connection to my router but I am good with that. The setup was easy. Backing up to the device may not be the fastest on the market (as noted by other reviews) but that was not a major concern of mine. It's fast enough for what I need. I don't use any of the WD backup utilities so I can't speak to their quality. I use my own backup utility and it works great! I can also access the device directly if I want to copy a file to/from my computer. Features I will be trying soon are: access the data when away from home, stream media, attach a hard drive via the USB port on the device. If I encounter major problems, I will update this review with my findings. If you are basically looking for a simple wireless big hard drive that you can access wherever you are, this should work for you. If nothing else, you can always return it if it does not work for you. :)

Easy to install and wasy to use! Backing up noth Mac & PC without issues

Needed a safe place to save pictures, this is doing the job. Can access my pictures from my iphone 6+, great!

Once it was setup, it works great, if you do not have at least some intermediate computer knowledge, you will be on the phone with support before getting this up and running. However once it was up and running, I have accessed it with ease, and it has work flawlessly.

This was a very easy unit to link to my wireless network. It has performed as intended for the past month. I can easily access the data (mainly music) with ease throughout my home. I would recommend you consider this product if you do not mind having no redundancy.

It helps keep my computer's storage clean and I like the fact that I no longer have to go to the same computer to get all the information I am looking for I can simply log on to any computer and chose which document I want to view and have it right where I need it. Its also secure no one with out the password can access it even if your sharing a wireless router with others in your apartment or home. Its even easy to transport from my office to my house.

Bought this to expand the storage for my music collection. Fast, quiet and reliable.

This is better than paying a monthly subscription. It's your own personal cloud and you can put a password on it to keep it safe from others. I can retrieve my personal information from anywhere in the world and download to it too. All you need is a laptop, smart phone or tablet and down load the app to download to your cloud. I am happy I bought it.

Easy to set up. And it stores a lot of photos. Easy to upload.

This item is easy to setup and use for everyday files and backup. My wife has a Mac and this device came already partitioned for the time machine. The only draw back is that you have to use their app to manage. You can't just navigate to a folder location.

I initially experienced incredibly slow transfer speeds while using the WD SmartWare backup feature - on the order of tens of kilobits per second. This was through a gigabit internet connection. It would have taken a week or more to back up my computer. Drag and drop file transfers worked much better, at the advertised speeds of tens of megabits per second. After uninstalling WD Quick View, I believe it was, I finally got the advertised transfer speeds. I am now pleased with the cloud backup, but getting here took a lot of work searching the web for a solution.

Not really a 'cloud' solution as you actually have hardware but 4 TB storage packed in a compact form factor. The GUI is a little clunky but manageable which is why only 4 stars. Haven't had much time to put it through the paces but looks good so far.

Excellent backup unit. I am running 3 computers on my network with 2 routers, This thing setup seamlessly on my second router im using as a bridge and is detectable throughout my network and on the 2 phones outside of my network.. I set my and the wife's phone up to cloud backup with separate accounts and folders. then marked them private so each system cant see the other.. only the admin account can see backups across all platforms. exactly the way I wanted it. the software is very user friendly. be sure if you want everything in its own folder for each phone to make it save in the particular folder in the phone app, if not it will save to the public,, the wife and i use the public to share our videos and pics with each other.. the only thing i found that dont work for me is the link share. I think its because it is not on my internet Gateway router its on the bridged but no big deal to me

This is a great product. We used the My Cloud Storage to store the information in our I Phone. It has stored everything and there is plenty enough storage left for future downloads. It has opened up more space in our I Phone. Looking forward to saving more information and memories.

Enough space for all my needs; easy setup with my Mac

The only complaint I have with this product is the initial setup. First, do it on a pc vs a Mac if you can, and definitely not on a mobile device. The UI for setup for the PC is more intuitive than the rest. Transfer took a long time as I was moving everything I had on my old 2TB media server ~20hrs for everything which is good when you think about the amount of data. I have streamed videos, photos, and music on iOS, android, OSX, and Windows 7 & 8, and have to admit that it's very nice. Obviously there is lag over cellular when streaming video, but other than that, this thing is incredible! I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants access to files from anywhere.
