Only Complaint is the NAS wakes up randomly a lot and WD knows about the issue and has not fixed the problem

Its Fast, Uploading and downloading, You can basically be anywhere and access your hard drive, if connected to the internet, from another computer or even your phone. Keeps your PC and Phone running fast by not cluttering your data storage.

I really do like because it hooks up to the router all of the computers in the house can be backed up to it.

I love the idea of this product and bought it to store data from my PC and iMac allowing me to access pictures etc from anywhere. However, after 3 very long calls to tech support I still can't get the software to work. My computer still won't back up! I am not calling tech support again. They couldn't help the first 3 tries!

These are simple to use, My use is a music storage device for an audio server, no delay when playing music via the ethernet connection. while there is a remote access via the web, the setup and use could be better.

I thought that this would be a good backup device. It seems to be working after getting technical help.

I have no interest in the "cloud" access part of it -- just wanted a networked drive to backup multiple computers. Seems fine for that, but some backed up folders were corrupted. Filenames look fine and the file sizes look right, but contents have multiple pages of junk. I plan to use the Windows Backup software in the future. Will add that the WD documentation is obscure.

Works great locally. I wish the remote access was a little less clunky. Overall good product would recommend.

After issues with several seagate external hard drive devices, the Best Buy rep informed me that the more technical customers usually buy WD. The WD drive works great so I highly recommend this backup solution.

There are cheaper options and the UI can be a little confusing if you don't want to use all the features.

It met my needs, but the setup is not dummy proof. Setup was a little more complicated than it needs to be.

Could not get back to dashboard after setup, reset daily and factory reset daily for several weeks. Software update that was suppose to fix did nothing, must be a defective unit

It's ok, I can't seem too automatic do backups I have to manually do it, maybe something I'm doing

Excellent external NAS drive for the home. Connected easily to my PC and Mac. I have not tried using the remote WD App that goes with this device but overall I see more versatility with this drive than WD MyBook.

Even though you think you can add apps to this NAS you can't. You only get what is already on the unit. When I visited WD's Website before buying aIl the different apps were shown - inferring you could add them. I wanted to add Plex but it wasn't possible. You have to buy one of the other more expensive models. There are better NAS devices out there.

The hard drive works as described. The Android app works well. But missing a few advanced features

I've tried several cloud storage devices. Bought this one hoping I could get it setup between multiple devices on my network for backup purposes. USB 3.0 on the back of the device does not work with my AC router. Has to be connected to a NIC port on the router. I wouldn't buy this again.

I purchased this in order to back up all my content and have it available on the cloud, only downside is that it doesn't offer more than one USB port to extend its capacity.
