Still struggling to link with multiple units. Doesn't stay on line.

I've had this for over a year now and still have yet to be able to use it. I have not been able to connect to it. The directions look so simple, but when I follow them, the device can't be found. I'm hoping that Western Digital resolves this within the next couple of days.

Hi friends Stay away this product. WD not work at all It even not share local network .no way to go over internal .keep loosing connection and all time u have to reset . So my suggestion are buy good expensive router and add usb drive and use over FTP website Again stay away

Had this NAS, for 7 months, have now 900GB free, still works as performant as when new (even after some FW updates over time). FW updates occur every 1 to 3 months, depending the severity of security breaches of the unix software, iTunes/the TimeMachine bugs that happens over time. Performs to an average of 80 MB/s or a little more with a gigabit ethernet cable, which is sufficient for me and my daily laptop backups as a Network drive since uses NTFS and works good. Some cons. may be, that there aren't more addons or plugins, e.g. torrent apps, like WD offer to the more costly NAS devices. Also, sharing data (since it's a cloud it can share to other people over the internet like a download server) it's a bit unpractical using the WD stock software. One must share each file (or folder, which is then zipped up) manually, and you get a big link to share online, but you can't (or at least, with the current WD MyCloud app) unshare that file or folder, and to block access to them, you must rename or move them. Otherwise, great device. Also, the cloud functions work great , but only if you attach as a network drive (over the internet) by using the wd2go.com web site, or by using the WD MyCloud app/program.

Don't make the same mistake I did. Go online and read the discussion boards. Search terms like 'Cant connect to MyCloud' or 'MyCloud poor performance'. This is a well-known dud.

Piece of crap I lost everything! In 2 years I have lost everything would never use it again it is very very cheesy device tech support stinks!!

Purchased to have personal cloud, crashed twice within 2 hours and was getting very hot, so i returned it.

Product is not reliable, don't buy this brand If you don't want to loose all your files and pictures

Tried 2 separate units neither one worked at all. Geek squad not help as did not have service contract only had a replacemental contract.

This drive failed in under 6 months. Pretty sad when you have to buy a backup hard drive for a backup hard drive. What's the point.

I returned the first one and tried out a second it had the same systematic problem. It cannot stay on line it drops off line.

This product was extremely difficult to set up. It did not work as intended. Definitely not recommended for Apple products.

I wanted to use this storage device with my Bose SoundTouch app but this unit would not do iTunes as a NAS device.

Failed and became what's known as a brick if yellow steady light comes on it's a brick no longer useable

Since I purchased this product and had to call technical support my computer had been compromised.

Thought this product was something that it wasn't. Too complicated to use. Returned it the next day.

Not only was this item difficult to set up and sync. While it runs it is very NOISY.

Does not work like it suppose and slows your computer greatly. Don't get it.
