Very easy to set up. Love it's remote access feature. No need to fiddle around with dynamic IP address issues. Just use the desktop and smartphone apps and one can easily access files from anywhere anytime. I have one at home and one at work. Using the apps, I can access both of them easily.

It works great as a back up product for cell phones and PCs, but did notice there's a huge lag in remote viewing from my cell phone, so the product doesn't help in that sense and when you are trying to view pictures, there are no options for thumbnails (Larger images), so all you see all the detailed info and a tiny image that its hard to see what it is and i have a 5" cell phone screen. So if you want to product to view pictures or videos stored in it for use, good luck, you will be spending a lot of time waiting for it to get you to the folder where they are (huge lag) and if you have a lot of pictures you will have to see one by one to find the picture you want and that takes too long! Rather use my laptop for this purpose.

I use this device primarily as a media server for my home theater system. It is quite outstanding for that purpose, as it is always visible to my networked receiver. Because of the extensive storage space, I am in the process of ripping my entire CD collection into lossless FLAC files. The coolest part is that the content is accessible from anywhere in the world.

I am using this now for a way to back up all of my PC's and access my photos. This is a great way to do so. The ability to access all my photos and music on my phone ANYWHERE via PC or my phone is pretty great.

Device is a little confusing to set up initially but is super convenient to have afterward. All the convenience of Google Drive or One Drive but more secure.

This was my second 4tb unit. I use them as network attached storage devices. They are easy to set up and work as advertised. Being able to access files in your own personal cloud is a real plus.

Pros: This NAS drive works well overall. The setup was simple and connecting from other computers in the network worked well. The WDMyCloud works well with the Android tablets. Cons: Writing is much slower than I would expect over a Gigabit Ethernet connection. I connected several portable External USB hard drives to the USB Expansion Port with no results! I finally had success after connecting my 750GB USB3 WD My Passport. I tried to copy a 35GB backup file from the Passport onto the My Cloud and discovered the real meaning of slow! Conclusion: I like this item and would recommend it, as a cost effective network storage for moderate use. I wish the USB port were a direct connection for faster writing.

Perfect storage capacity to archive photographs and able to retrieve files very easily.

The reason I give it 4 stars in stead of 5 is due to the fact that sometimes when trying to access it, I'm not able to and it doesn't give me a reason. At first I thought maybe it was because my network was down, but everything else accessed the internet just fine, so that wasn't the problem. Whenever this happens (which is extremely rare - it's happened to me maybe twice) I usually just wait 5 minutes or so and try again and I'm able to access it. It could just be that the drive was inactive for too long and went into a power-saving mode and took a few minutes to get back up to full operation. Be aware when you're buying, while this does act as a cloud drive, much like Dropbox, it is based off of your home network - so if your internet is down or your home loses power, you won't be able to remotely access your files; so bottom line is if you need a file for work or school, take a physical copy or a USB drive with you as a precaution/backup plan in the rare instance you can't access the drive. I mainly use this to store my iTunes library and such so that I don't have to use up space on my phone for music and videos, I can just stream them from the drive to whatever device I want anytime I want over my home network and it works great!

Easy install and the manufacturer will help you with it. Now I can store my files in the MyCloud and have extra space on my PC hard drive, or use it as a back-up. It allows me to access my files from anywhere. Great device.

4 TB Storage, personal cloud i.e securely accessible from anywhere with confidence. Setup was easy, in fact, I did not have to do anything, just powered up and connected with internet, and done. Setting backup schedule was easy again, with the simplest instructions. Wireless Data transfer within the LAN initially, was superfast, but within a month the rate of transfer on the same LAN with no more shared bandwidth than earlier, the speed slowed down (I have 30mb download speed for Internet service), but its still convincing rate, atleast way faster than any other wireless method I have used so far. I am just waiting for both AppleTV and WD to collaborate in terms of opening some path so that, I am not dependent on a PC/MAC to have my media shared and viewed on AppleTV.

I love this product. I love the easy access from my phone as well as my new Samsung tv. My tv recognized it right off the bat as a source and I can watch all my digitally stored movies easily on my tv. Easy to share both private and shared access with friends and family from anywhere in the world. This is a very cool hard drive.

This is very easy to set up and easy to use. Works great with android devices to back up photos and videos. I also use it to steam to my Playstation 3. The only con is I wish I had gotten the mirror. If the drive fails there is no backup of the nas. You can back it up very easily through the usb port you just need another usb drive
