Garbage Software Interface

It never accepted my passwords. The response to my input was "Updating..." and it stayed there for more than 20 minutes. I contacted tech support and they said it was an IP hold placed on my account due to too many failed login attempts and that I needed to wait 1-2 hours. I had already waited 1-2 hours and the problem persisted. The hardware may be fine (I will never know), but the Western Digital interface is horrible. It's going back to the store.

Not impressed.

Low reliability. Interface is slow and non-intuitive. WD MyCloud was just recently hacked. Parts are expensive even though SSD's are cheap. Look elsewhere.

Do not buy!

We have limited WiFi capabilities where we live, but I thought we could use this on our internal network without the bandwidth limitations. This has not proved to be true. Plus, you do not have true drag/drop capabilities because it will not preserve file structures. So you have to back up one folder at a time. Insane! Plus, customer service is non-existent. Would never buy another of their products. Total waste of money.

Not a true NAS system and they make you jump through a million hoops to use or backup files with it. Absolute waste of money and I'm angry. The "expert" in the name is accurate in that you'd have to be an expert with a bunch of time on your hands to even use it. Google reviews before you buy, I trusted the brand and didn't. That was my mistake.
