I've been using this HDD for some time now and I'm very satisfied. No more spending on Cloud storage. All my devices are connected to this.

I have purchased two of these items, one for home and one for my office. Setup was not complicated. Both are on wired networks. No operational problems.

Needed a reliable back-up for several Mac computers to ensure critical data is recoverable in the event of a problem. Best Buy directed me to this unit for our household needs. Very happy with this so far. Hope I never have to use it!

The system is really easy to use out of the box but has the flexibility to grow into what you need for your home data backup and cloud.

Microsoft discontinued their Home Server so we needed a new place to share and backup data on the network. After doing reviews the WD - My Cloud EX2 Ultra was the best choice. It took a little time to figure out how we wanted the storage configured (striped or mirrored), but once this was set it was smooth sailing. We mapped a drive letter on all of the computers to the public folder for sharing of files and mapped a drive to a user directory for each user for backup of the computers. We have a gigabyte network and accessing and copying files is extremely fast. We highly recommend this product.

Works great. Need external storage for all my wifes photos and videos.

Great option to connect all your devices to one storage bank. This device connects to your network and allows all your devices connected on the same WiFi network to access this drive. Great way to share photos, videos, and more across all your devices.

I had it up and functioning in 15 min. Keep track of all 10 OSs I use.

Photos work fine, but is video playback is a fail. Easy set up but failed with video playback. Refused to play videos natively through the OS5 app. Had to download videos I uploaded to not have on my phone to watch. Defeats the purpose of this device. Returned. Also has an option to install plex, also was unable to playback the videos uploaded to the NAS.

I finally decided to get "the ultra-reliable WD Red™ NAS" EX2 drives, with the hope of getting a much longer life-expectancy than with the standard drives...and so far, so good! I use it for Dual-backup of my Photos, Videos, Music and other files, which makes such transfers easy & problem free. The "My Cloud" app on my I-Phone makes the photo transfer via my WiFi network a breeze. With this local Cloud Drive I keep all my files "in-House" and I have no needs for any other "Cloud" services and can thereby avoid typical monthly fees.

Drive is working, however, we keep getting various security warnings and DoS attack warnings yet there are no "updates" or patches available.

This network attached storage is easy to setup. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it automatically enables Internet access to the device without offering me the option to opt-out of that feature. If I wanted this content to be available via the web, I could just put it on OneDrive and saved the money.

Great value for the money. Setup is very easy and the product works as anticipated.

Have been using this device for a while mainly as a NAS drive. So far, no issues. I keep all my content on a couple of WD USB. so very little actually resides on this NAS device. Two connected USB devices are a 4TB and a 12TB. The 12TB with about 500 titles and everything is working perfectly. I had Geek Squad set this up for me with access from home network only. I also try to hibernate the NAS drive when not in use to keep it safe, even though the data is only for entertainment and nothing personal. Hopefully, it will last longer than my previous single bay NAS.

Works great for network storage. Quick and easy access when you need it. The built in Plex server was basically useless since the onboard CPU can't handle encoding the files for various devices. Simple solution was to have the server on my computer but point it to the NAS for the files. I have not had a chance to try it's dropbox function or cloud access.

I wanted a device to replace an older 2TB network drive - I store all my movies and music on a network cloud so i can do away with having to deal with discs and so i can watch/listen on any device anywhere. Wasn't sure how well this was going to work and how easy it would be to set up... Let's just say the "hardest part" was determining what raid configuration I went with...lol Movies loaded, music loaded - MUCH faster than my older 2TB Cloud, both in initial connectivity as well as on playback...no need to buffer anything. Definitely great to not have deal with discs at all and even better now that I know I have about 3TB to grow into. Absolutely ZERO regrets.

I use this device to store my photos and movies. It was very easy to configure and use. I even use the cloud app in my phone to access photos and documents from anywhere. I even use plex media server as an attempt to stream media in my TV and it works great.

It works great. Has some apps that can be installed for different purposes. It was a bit of an impulse purchase as in i disnt do any resesrch on the model first really. So glad i did it though. The drives do spin down after some time of no usage. Also seems to have a fan that only runs when needed. Ive only noticed the fan running during bootup.

Easy setup -good performance - definitely an upgrade from my cloud
