Does its job well, used for streaming music to my high-end streamer and TV for my VHS movies and personal movies I converted to digital format

Very happy so far, I would caution if you’re planning on using this at least partially for a Plex server the on board cpu/RAM isn’t powerful enough to convert video on the fly so probably best to convert it beforehand to the compatible format.

I loved that this was a plug and play. I can access it from any of my devices.

This is very good for storing data from iPad. I use it to keep the little storage on my ipad low for more data.

I purchased the 8TB WD MyCloud Ex2 NAS and i am pretty happy with my purchase. It is easy to setup and has a lot of potentials. There are some room for improvement though. It took me a little on how to access the NAS thru Windows Explorer as the instructions was not as clear as i would hope. Also it would be nice if the NAS had the functionality similar to DropBox where you can set user permissions within sub folders of certain shares. Currently you are only able to set user permission only on the master shares folders and all subsequent folder has those properties. The mobile app could use some improvement on quickly viewing your files. But overall happy with the purchase. I just hope it lasts.

The WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra is an excellent solution to store all my photographs and files. It was easy to set up and access my files from all of my devices is a dream.

Simple to setup and works great on my home network

I have a technical background that goes back to the 1970s and have seen some software over the years that is not user friendly and this is one of them. I would be able to use this without too much hassle, but someone who is not well versed with technology and software will struggle. The operating software is not for the faint of heart. I was wanting this to be what my wife wanted to ensure the safety of her photos, but its too convoluted - I took it back for a refund.

Please note LOTS OF STORAGE. This MyCloud has 8TB of total storage. Either 4TB with Mirror image on second drive or you can configure as 1 8TB powerhouse. Buy it.

Set up process is not smooth, but otherwise it's a good product and does decent job.

The fan is NOISY AS ALL HECK! Every couple of days or so I have to unplug it for a while because I can't stand the (as the Grinch would say...NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! There have also been times when a red light comes on indicating a possible disc drive problem - fortunately "all" I have to do to get rid of that is unplug it for a while and then plug it back in. WD dropped part of its online support app within a month of the time I purchased this item. (And I am not talking about the optional Nighhawk subscription service). I originally bought this as a NAS replacement for an old Apple TimeCapsule which served me silently and well for many years before finally failing - but now I absolutely cannot wait to get rid of this piece of WD JUNK. I'm going to replace it with usb-connected external storage drives on each computer - no more NAS. And I will never, EVER by anogther Western Digital product again.

Easy setup for home backups and remote access. Would recommend to anyone wanting good remote backup and file access.

This device works as advertised and was super easy to set. The new app to access it also works great.

This is a great solution for home storage, very easy to set up and works fast over your local network.

Setup was easier than expected, no problems. Loaded some files to share and performance is good. Have not set up backups yet.
