... Boo. That's right, in order to use the NAS on my network I had to sign up for Western Digital's free cloud storage service and apparently their stab at social media. I'm a computer person, I am NOT social. I don't want to sign up for anything, especially not just to make use of a hard drive. And part of the reason for throwing another 4 GB at my network is so that I don't have to use cloud based storage which at the end of the day is just storing my data on someone else's hard drive. If I'm going to do that why would I buy a drive of my own? That all said, the drive itself has been flawless. It's zippy fast and doesn't suffer from the hibernation delay that an older NAS I was using did.

Works great for what I need it for. Overall cloud storage and running my plex server. I hope that is 50 characters because that’s all I have to say

Our time capsule finally gave up the ghost and after some trial and error with other options, we settled on the My Cloud Home 4TB. Setup was easy, and seamless and the handshake with TimeMachine was perfect.

This NAS is really easy to use, but it also doesn't provide all the power of standard NAS drives. Good integration with Smart Home (Alexa only) and DLNA through a Plex service.

Works great in the network. The ability to have your former DVDs on the disk and watch those w/ Plex is great. Really good product for the price.

This was easy to set up and get going. It syncs with my phone when i get home and it just works well. I wish the app had more feature or a more clear way to merge all accounts but other than that good product.

Software is easy to use and access from anywhere works. Would like more functionality for backing up on demand v. automatically from mobile devices.

Great product with superior connectivity. Setup is a breeze, easily backup photos and video from my iPhone and time machine works seamlessly.

Works as advertised. Saves all my music, photos and videos from my smart phone automatically. Wish it did the same for my computer.

Pretty slick. Way better then using google or apples cloud. This allows you to use it as if it were a google cloud or an iCloud. Tons of space. Instant transfer, and can see my photos from any location with a cel service or wifi. No monthly subscription is the best part

I think this product is nice to clear things off and works great was kind of skeptical about doing online storage but this your own personal storage at your own home can save projects and other things on it. Works great on transfers things off phones or computers for storage space.

Nice to have my own storage safe at home. Pictures, videos and such, I don’t want to lose. Easy set up and backups. Works great!

I bought this to replace a old WD NAS that finally became obsolete, but had a very good experience with. The user experience is actually better, with great access from my PC or phone. It's quick, on my home network, I have any delay for most files, and reasonable for large files. It's actually surprisingly quick on the phone using cellular internet. I like the large drive space for the price point, highly recommend.

This is a nice affordable NAS Solution. Works fairly well across my network and outside my network. Decent Transfer speeds. Biggest drawback is that its not uPNP and seen automatically on my network. You need to install the WD Discovery Software on the PC you want to use so it will then see the Drive. Wanted to use it as a Media Server with Plex and it works well if Plex works on the Device you are using. FireTV devices don't play nice with Plex. App crashes.

I bought this device to store pictures and videos from our cell phones and to manage my own data. I was surprised to see it can be used for other cool things i use it as my media server as well as NAS. I play my music and movies on it and store all my pictures and videos very impressed. It works when away from home network as well

= This isn't a backup solution. Backups should be off-site, generally by a subscription service like Carbonite, not on or under your desk. = This is for remote access to large numbers of files through WiFi. It does that, sort of. It uses syncing, which is problematic because even copying from one folder on the drive to another, the operation is excruciatingly slow. = The product installs a folder on your computer that is accessible only for users on your local network. Who needs that? The files are not accessible remotely. For remote access to files, you have to copy the local files into the remote folder. And you have to install several apps; one of them works but the others are obsolete and no longer work! = The manual is awful. It was written by engineers, not by specialists in communicating to average computer users. For instance, it uses terms that only the in-crowd understand. = All in all, the main benefit of the device is that saves you the cost of VPN.

The Personal Cloud installed instantly and was perfectly intuitive for operation instantly mated to my wireless system.

This WD cloud storage drive is exactly what I needed. My wife and I are camera hogs when it comes to our children. I mean which parent isn’t? Now your pics are unloaded from your mobile device right onto this hard drive which hooks up easily to your router. Upload pics virtually from anywhere. The app is easy too. Now I don’t have to worry about ever losing these memories and can access them anytime from anywhere. Thanks WD for making this possible.
