Love this. I used it to set up a Plex account and it was ready to go right out of the box. As far as setting up your own server goes, western digital really makes it simple. Mine came with a free 3 month Plex trial as well! I have this Ethernet plugged into my Eero mesh network (non pro version) with the cable it came with and everything has been working great.

I was looking for a time machine compatible hard drive and first tried Seagate! According to their website it was compatible with the proper setup. I followed their setup to the letter and when time capsule went to set it up, the whole hard drive froze up. Took it back and got this. Everything installed very smoothly. Backs up happen automatically now like they should for 3 computers..

It technically functions. I am using it for Time Machine backups from a Mac. The permissions are very difficult to figure out. One moment I can access a file and the next I can't. The My Cloud Home is being phased out evidently. I am going to keep this because it is working for what I need it for. But I would not buy this again. I wanted a simple NAS solution and this is simple enough. I think I found the instructions difficult to understand and the website confusing. I bought a 4TB drive and I get this free cloud storage, but they aren't really linked at all and it seems random.

Quick and easy setup. Allows me to access files even when off network.

Not perfect, but works well for this price point and performs as intended.

Works great, saved a lot of money for other cloud subscriptions. Also, getting a chance to transfer any data from myhome cloud to another external drive is easy and smooth.

App and website is very easy to use. Great product at a reasonable price.

This is basically an external drive that connects with a network rather than on one machine. It has very little configuration ability and what it does have pretty much must be done on a phone app, and is somewhat clunky and cumbersome. I admire WD for trying to make idiot-proof devices, but am disappointed that, unlike my other two My Cloud devices, this one has no customization options at all. Can't even rename it and give it a static IP.

This was super easy to install and is fantastic. I can backup my phone from anywhere and other devices, such as my computer. It's a great way to keep the amount of information stored on my actual devices to a minimum, which is helpful with a digital design business. I loved it so much that I also got one for my mom who does embroidery work for all her files.

The My cloud is very easy to setup and I was able to use it in minutes after plugging it.

Easy setup. And enough storage to share with my team. Set it and forget it - love it!

The product is worth spending and easy setup and now my photos are downloaded and have enough free space in my mobile and other online apps

My mother in law bought this product to house family pictures and files. The setup was very simple to do and it is very straight forward to share files with family and friends. The feature to setup as a cloud drive that can be accessed from anywhere in the world via the app or desktop platform is a stress free option. I do not have a reference point to prior versions of the WD My Cloud or My Cloud Home.

But this to run Plex it has a Plex server, but it disconnects from time to time, and it doesn’t allow you to choose what folder or different folders to add. Your Faussett only add one fell at a time, which is very limited, so if you plan on running Plex stay away from this item, but at least it gives you your own hard drives

Easy to setup. I like it. Simple to use. I haven’t gotten toncrazy with it yet. I simply like my own cloud storage device

Great price for what your getting. Setup was very easy, but the user interface need more work. This device should have bridged the gap between previous models. Meaning, even tho it a personal cloud i should be able to remotely access said device from anyone of my network attached devices without having to have the WD Discovery App installed. So as a waring this is just a "BACKUP Device", nothing else.

It is a good device to plug in the office or at home but it has to have an Internet connection and use a proprietary app to access and/or transfer files. It does not have a plug for the PC to access files directly, which I didn't like. It also uses a HDD (hard drive), which has much slower read/write speeds than a SSD. It does looks very esthetic though.

Easy to set up and simple to use. There are several features of the device that attracted us to this particular device.

This is a great addition for file storage. Can access anywhere.

If you're looking for a fast, easy-to-use NAS server for your home, at the suggested cost of just $150 for 2TB ($180 for 3TB, and $250 for 4TB), the WD My Cloud is an excellent choice among single-volume network storage devices.
