Ease of use setup clean lines lots of storage quality unit

The My Cloud Home personal cloud-based system is a great option for small businesses to share and store information. I would highly recommend this as an option if you're running out of space on your work computers/laptops (it's a much cheaper option). I also own a My Cloud system at home too. My family and I use it to back up our devices, including videos and pictures.

If you're looking for a fast, easy-to-use NAS server for your home, at the suggested cost of just $150 for 2TB ($180 for 3TB, and $250 for 4TB), the WD My Cloud is an excellent choice among single-volume network storage devices.

This was to replace an older WD drive that wouldn’t work with my newer laptop. It was easier to set up than I expected.

WD MY CLOUD HOME Great home cloud storage connected to wifi. Complaints were that you could not set up auto backup of files on your computer. Found it a breeze to do. Now i have link on three devices to put things in the files and can access from all. Would highly recommend.

Seems to be a nice unit, however unable to use with Eero and had to returned item.

This is basically an external drive that connects with a network rather than on one machine. It has very little configuration ability and what it does have pretty much must be done on a phone app, and is somewhat clunky and cumbersome. I admire WD for trying to make idiot-proof devices, but am disappointed that, unlike my other two My Cloud devices, this one has no customization options at all. Can't even rename it and give it a static IP.

I got tired of backing up my files to portable hard drives so I gave this a try. So far it’s been great. I love being able to access my files easily from all my devices and transferring files from likewise. Set up was easy and so far I’ve had no issues with connections. I’m nowhere close to filing this up even with a large amount of jpeg and video files.

Very happy with this cloud storage device. I can access my pictures where ever I am. My grandson was born this past August and I granted his parents access to an album and we are all able to upload and share the photos. It is really nice to have them all in a single location. It also works as a back up to my home computer and my phone.

It works as advertised though they are extremely limited in capabilities. These portable NAS drives have so much potential but the manufacturers limit them horribly. 1. Turn on local access and map the drive, otherwise you can only access your files by logging in through their service. There was a 10 day service outage earlier in 2023 and at least a few people lost access to their drives. 2. No way to set a static IP. By portable you should be able to plug the network cable into any computer with an available RJ45 network connector using a crossover cable, and setting the properties of the ethernet port on the computer, but no luck there. It only takes a dynamic IP so it must be on a network running DHCP. Apparently the older models had this feature but it was removed in later versions. 3. SSH access, none whatsoever. Again, was available in older models, no longer. 4. These portable NAS drives are very susceptible to failure from power outages, black/brown outs. Having them plugged into a monitored UPS to trigger a controlled power down script via SSH is an extremely helpful way to avoid hard power downs and potential hardware failure. Been there, done that. I don't like sending drives out for data recovery. See #3 above. For the capabilities above that are lacking IMO, you would be far better off building your own NAS with Raspberry Pi, some additional hardware, and free NAS software. It is more expensive, but still costs far less than paying for disk recovery services.

Great little device with a very easy to use software interface. I use this to store data and photos. I love the cloud based app and features that allow you to upload photos from remote locations. I uploaded photos while in Europe to this device in ND USA. This was very helpful because I lost my phone! without this I would have had no photos of my vacation

Easy to set up and simple to use. There are several features of the device that attracted us to this particular device.

Initially, I got my cloud hoping to use this as a plex media server, but it didn't work very well for me in that respect. Videos were buffering a lot even in original quality. But it's a great backup device, I'm saving all my important files, pictures, and videos and you have access to them via the app anywhere. As a backup device its great

The price was good and the device is good. It would be better if the software was easier to setup auto back up
