After an easy setup. I began to store data on this item. After some successful transfers, I began to move my music data and the progress halted at 70%. I waited 2 hours in the event that it was slow but still 70%. I decided to hard reset my PC. When everything booted up, I noticed that MyCloud said it was offline. I unplugged myCloud for 5 mins and plugged it back in to only see myCloud offline. I went to the box to grab the manual and to my surprise, it only had a warranty letter along with the easy setup card. I went online to see if there was a fix and I was guided to the pin resets. 20-40 secs is non-destructive. 60 is. I avoided the 60 sec reset but myCloud still showing offline. So the next part was what I didn't want to do but I had to (60 reset). I conducted the 60 reset and it still shows offline and on top, the front light never reset when I pinned for 60+ secs. If I knew that there was a button on the back to reset data, I would have never bought this, as a random stranger can just erase your stuff with a push of a button. I digress. I called support for SUPPORT but the said I would have to pay for my data back (emergency recovery can cost up to $1000) even though their equipment failed. I only owned it for a couple of hours and was met with a nightmare, (20 years of data destroyed.) This is the only review I have ever written in my life. I am so angry so I know my review might not hold weight, but I hope it makes you think about purchasing this. The item is faulty along with WD customer service.

The price was good and the device is good. It would be better if the software was easier to setup auto back up

I'm using this as my Plex media server. It's great not to have to leave my computer on 24/7

Exactly what I needed. Easy to install and set up on my phone and computer. Now I know I won't lose any pics or docs. It also downloaded all of my google photos from switching phones

It’s pretty awesome extra storage, and the fact you can back up your stuff through cloud It’s pretty awesome.

Setting up first account was easy. Setting up additional accounts is difficult.

I love that you can connect directly with your cellphone to upload photos and share with other people in your family. Only downside is that each user profile has it's own private space. It's not one large share. It would make more sense to have one large share and mark folders as private as needed. It's not a big deal but you have to share out folders with other users for them to see the files.

I love that this is wireless and is easy to use once you set your devices up on the app. Everything backs up with ease.

Easy set device set up. The app and log on had some issues recognizing password by eventually resolved.

Useful if you need immediate storage, but would not recommend. After hours of research, I found that WD's servers for the My Cloud were compromised and many users lost data. They also stopped supporting the desktop software on windows for this product. I returned this device and opted to go with purchasing more OneDrive storage

The drive is being used for shared storage and local back up, very easy to use

Easy setup. The auto-save feature for pics is nice, but requires a lot of cleanup if you’re a person that takes/uses screenshots or uses throwaway pics.

Could not get this to see and backup windows 10. WD was no help ether. After two weeks of hassle I returned it and bought a NAS like I should have done from the start.

It was easy to setup and works really great. You can access the files anywhere.

I am an amateur photographer, and I take a lot of wildlife pictures every week. I needed a big storage place to keep all my pictures, and I needed to access them while out in the field. The WD 4 TB MyCloud meets my needs for now. I can keep all my pictures organized and access them. This drive does not have a way of backing it up except copying all the files manually.

Easy to install and bring it up. Backup and view photos over internet works great

It was very easy to connect and use. Currently have it connected using network cable but can also use it with USB. It backs up data and photos really fast. Really good product at a great price
