It was very easy to connect and use. Currently have it connected using network cable but can also use it with USB. It backs up data and photos really fast. Really good product at a great price

Easy to set up and the app on the phone and computer is very easy to use. Sad the app is not available on the TV but I got a free account with Plex and I can play my media on my TV with no issues. Streaming to my phone with the cloud app is a breeze too.

Easy setup and saved us on paying for more space through Apple on iCloud

I bought this for a friend after seeing how much more secure it is than a traditional cloud owner by a company. This can be shared amongst users in my household on multiple computers and the date can also be accessed remotely. Don't have to worry as much about data breahes/hacking.

you could add storage via usb with a hub and multiple drives on the old mycloud drives, but not on these new mycloud home drives, but plex is pretty darn good. i stream 4k video from my mycloud home to my 4k tcl roku tv with the roku plex channel. plex is free for your home network, but outside your home network you have to buy plex premium to continue streaming.

Using it as a time machine backup for two macs. Works great. I thought it would be a bit faster to write to but I'm not sure if that has to do with the computer or the drive. It's honestly louder then I thought it would be. If my office is super quiet it can be distracting when a backup is running at about 2 feet away.

I like the storage capacity but uploading files takes a long time

Added this second cloud drive to use strictly as a backup for our two laptops. Both laptops are constantly backed up so I have that security knowing our data will not be lost. Easy setup. Does take several hours for the initial backup to finish and will depend on how much data/media you have.

I have an aging MyCloud and was in hopes that this unit would be able to replace it. Answer: partially. Pluses: installs on a Windows 10 system easily with their WD Discovery software. Easily accessible anywhere via web access. Minuses: Not much control over how it works. On my old MyCloud I could easily access multiple accounts simultaneously with a varied set of permissions. On the "Home" you get one account at a time. On the original MyCloud you could control when it updated and whether things like Desktop Shortcuts appeared on your PC;. Not the Home. It will automatically update itself (cannot be turned off) and will create a desktop shortcut no matter what you do. So... is you are looking for something functional and easy, this works well. If you are looking for something you can control, it really doesn't. So my "no" on recommend is because I fall in the latter category. I'm still going to use it, but when my original MyCloud eventually dies, I'll replace it with a different product.

This is a really good personal cloud that works well on all my devices. I am glad I purchased it. My only down side is the Mac Discovery app, which you have to install. On a sign in to an account, it drops the menu bar item down covering other windows. I have a number of WD drives and it lists them all. Fine. But I don't want to see the window. I have found no option to silence this behavior.

Useful if you need immediate storage, but would not recommend. After hours of research, I found that WD's servers for the My Cloud were compromised and many users lost data. They also stopped supporting the desktop software on windows for this product. I returned this device and opted to go with purchasing more OneDrive storage

I love that this is wireless and is easy to use once you set your devices up on the app. Everything backs up with ease.

Back to initial issue only My Cloud Home app can access the stuff, and the app has a lot of restrictions. Now you can setup local access where you can make it works like NAS. You have to assign local IP a for it and open your browser with key in assigned IP. From the dashboard page you can add local access and setup username and password (one user only).
That's how you can access the "secured" contents with regular file explorer or SMB client. You can setup port forwarding for outside access.

This was easy to use and I was able to transfer from ps4 without any problem

I use it as a back-up for my PC, laptop, & cell phone...
