I use this for backing up my camera roll. I also like that you can add users with their own account and space on it. Also was able to transfer files via the usb port on the back. The mobile app seems straight forward.

It works, but not the way I (or anyone else should) want it to work. You need the mycloud app to access it for file and directory operations, it has to be hooked directly to your router, and is not reliably drag and drop for large files on my MAC. If you loose internet connectivity, it can choke. It is simple to use, but not a robust solution if you want more flexibility.

Easy to follow install instructions. Setup software on three home computers and one cell phone for backup, restore, and access to personal files. Pleased with WD product quality and price.

Great product to store photos, but I don’t like not being able to have them in order

Actually gave this product 2 shots. The 1st one installed easy and started working in 20 minutes. Good interface. Only problem is it only backs up your camera roll in your Android devices. The next day my wife started noticing that rokus and tablets would get slow wifi. Unplugged the my cloud home and all were back to normal. Exchanged for another one and then it was a full day excercise to install since the desktop app didn't recognize the new one and I couldn't figure out how to remove the old one. Had to register again with a different email to get it to work....and the it did used all the wifi again.

Our WD My Cloud Home 4TB Personal Cloud was very easy to set up and is providing us with excellent back-up protection for our data.

The My Cloud has been great. No problems whatsoever with this product. Easy to install, easy to use. If you are looking for a wireless storage device, I would highly recommend this product.

The network storage is great if you want a very easy setup and do not need to setup user permissions. I was told this was like my old one (WD mccloud NAS) it was the "newer" version. After plugging it in it literally was about a 5min setup. The longest part was taking it out of the box. After setup, there is not a way to setup permissions for individual users. Like my old WD network storage, I was able to customize settings for each family member. Since all my friends are all in IT as well as myself, I personally would not recommend this device to them. Other than permissions, this is a good unit.

Very convenient when you need to backup files and you are not at home and are not able to carry around a external hard drive. Or even a flash drive.

The MyCloud was simple and easy to use as advertised. Plugged it in and connected the ethernet to my WiFi router and then typed the web address into my PC. Instantly connected and was immediately able to store data.

I bought this and I have to tell you. This is one of the best purchases I have made it keeps everything in one place for me and I get to upload stuff to it regardless of where I am. Absolutely lobe it

Easy to set up! Handy to use! I bought this as a way to centralize all my media files across many devices, all my flash drives, and all my external drives through the years. Set up was remarkably simple. It started to consume and organize my files immediately. I just literally sat back and watched. Then I started connecting USB devices, and let it do its thing. Now I can organize my collections with my phone or tablet from anywhere. Bored waiting at the Dr's office? Work on adding notes or organizing new folders. Someone asks to see a pic from ___? Open your mobile device and there it is. HIGHLY recommended.

Point blank, this device is made well. The problem is that the old software was so much better. If you are buying this to replace an older MyClould then just be warned, you’re not going to be happy

Super simple to set up, Can access from any computer on network and any authorised device outside the network. Can turn it into a personal PLEX Server with a button click. Only downside is that I didn't see the 8TB version first!

Easy setup takes a few attempts to sync up, however once everything is talking it is smooth sailing.

Needed space to store my pictures and videos and this is perfect! Separate logins for the entire family and keeps everything separate unless you want to share

This WD product is easy to setup. However, you have no customization options for advanced users (ex: cannot shell into device AND cannot configure/modify network adapter). Need to be connected to the Internet in order to use the NAS on your LAN ..... This NAS is very noisy with netcons to WD and CDN's (out of the box). If this NAS was customizable for advanced use, I would have been happy with the purchase. Older WD "My Book Live" had more customization than this.

This is a very handy hard drive to store many files so that one can access it even away from home. I store all my pictures on this and I am able to show them to my family in Friends when I go to visit

Not pleased with this purchase. This network cloud drive did not perform as advertised. It was slow. It failed almost just shortly after one year of operation.
