I like the feature that it backs up automatically from my ipad, large capacity to store everything.

Using a a network drive. Great way to free up space in your other devices and access from anywhere.

Easy setup gives me piece of mind knowing my files are being backed up

Setup was a breeze, it functions perfectly and best of all FAST! An additional bonus is I can access it with my Android phone and tablet from anywhere. Also, I have both Windows and Linux based computers an it works seamlessly with both. For example, I can take a picture with my phone and save it the the My Cloud from anywhere, then when I'm back home, load it to any of my computers to edit, then print it and save it back where I can view it on either TV.

I got this because I thought it would be cheaper and easier than iCloud. Syncing is easy enough, and it's pretty fast, but I've had some issues. It tends to remake the same folder, so now I have multiple copies of thousands of photos. Also, it gets VERY hot, so I've had to move it around in the server cabinet in fear of it overheating. They have sent out a few emails saying they are phasing out desktop support, so hopefully mobile transfer sticks around

Hi excellent product works well with google. Some problems for me the user because I’m finding my way, for example using the emails and changing accounts and utilizing the applications of the item but that is on me. Don’t what what else but cut this if you use it, somehow I got a double order, I took it as a blessing from the computer Gods and paid my bill. Gave the second to my daughter. Thanks.

I bought this to use for backing up my MacBook Pro over wifi. It's a great concept! Setup is relatively painless, it backs up my computer every hour (I believe), but the ONE thing I really needed it to be able to do, it won't. Last week my computer totally crapped out. It needed almost all of its internals replaced. I got that taken care of, and obviously my computer had been restored in the process. I got it home, set it up for a restore from my MyCloud device... And it won't let me. In order to restore the computer, Time Machine said that I needed to log in to the device using credentials I was never asked to set. I've tried every name and password combo that I have, thinking maybe I somehow forgot my info (even though I write down every name/password I'm asked for immediately as I set it). Nothing works. I tried checking forums online and didn't find anything. I even emailed their support team last week, and haven't gotten a response. I wish I had just used a different device.

I talked with WD customer support on several occasions. They helped get the My Cloud Home device up and running. HOWEVER, it is far more complicated to get backups running than the My Cloud device that it replaced. I'm still working on the backup problem. The hardware itself appears to be reliable, as expected.

I've used Western Digital external hard drives for years and this one has been kind of disappointing. I connected an old WD external hard drive to transfer about 2TB of Mac time machine backup files and it took 4 days to transfer. After it transferred, every time I turned on the drive it sounded like it was struggling to function, it got so loud and I couldn't access the files through the local folder on my computer, only through the online portal. For a few days that wasn't working, and Western Digital sent out a notice stating that they would no longer be providing online access for some of their cloud products. The announcement was so confusing that it took me a while to figure out that this device wasn't part of it. I'm actually still not entirely sure it isn't. I guess I'll find out in April. I ended up deleting everything off of the drive and I'm not sure I will be using it again.

This item is Great. To me, it’s better than the “WD MyCloud,” that I replaced.

This product is not only easy to use but also easy to access. Ease of use is on point great job WD.

Almost "plus and play". With the assistance of WD's simple set-up, it went very easy and works great.

Awesome on the go storage that you can access remotely from any internet connection.

Returned this hdd in a week. I was able to back up my pictures/ videos from iPhone running on 11.2 but accessing the data was a big issue. Escpecially I was unable to play any videos on MYCloud app, mycloud portal on laptop and also on PLEX. Using DLNA on xbox one and Samsung TV, I couldn’t play any videos. Although I was able to access other video formats like mpeg and mov
