It is a great way to back up your cellphone pics wirelessly or the pics from your DSLR using a USB 3.0. You can also use wireless or Ethernet but, depending on the amount of data, it might take a while. You can program your backups using the software included, pretty straight forward.

Very happy with it so far, I was in Las Vegas and it was uploading my photos from over there, so far doing more than expected.

I was looking for a way to keep all my computers backed up, and found this great gadget, every day update my computer, my Ipad and also my phone, and also my family get to have their information well backed up

It seems that it will easily save all your photos and videos off your smartphone but I was looking for a external hard drive to save all my files from each of my computers at the house over wifi. Definitely not what I was hoping for.

I bought this to replace my netgear that went bad. Only downfall is trying to map it with the IP Address, you can't on this model. I wish this would be an update with Firmware, and am still hoping. The Android app is awesome, and is great for backing up photos ETC.

Great utility and function but a bit over priced. Would recommend if on sale.

This NAS is awesome, I was talking to my Brother in law the other day about this versus running Plex on a PC, and this drive is on all the time where a PC will go to sleep and you have to wake it up to access the Plex server files. Great investment.

The MYCloud from WD use to be an NAS drive that you didn't have to fool around with much. I just missed the fine print and lost a lot of flexibility in the changes from my old MYCLOUD that died a few days after warranty. Read up before buying fill like Windows ME all over again with the WD software.

You must be connected to your home wifi for this to work.

Built a NAS Computer for my home and it became frustrating. This device replaced it and just works. It is my second one so far!

Although the product is the best "home" NAS for ease of use and setup the life of the product is not worth the investment. I had the previous generation and WD stopped supporting it earlier this year. So based on that timeline you need to replace the device about every 6-8 years. Speed slows like any piece of technology, cloud-based you do not have to worry about that occurring. Being a prime member I get photo storage for free, plus speed and filing is much faster than MyCloud

Still works as if it was new! Would and do recommend!

I have a problem getting it to continue to automatically backup

I got this to back-up my computer files so I can access to them anywhere. Just hook it up to the router, download the app, set-up the account and that's it. Now I can easily transfer my files safely to the hard drive. And I can get access to it from anywhere, where there is a wi-fi. Love it.

I was worried about losing my phone pics and it was too much hassle to keep backing up regularly. This was a great buy. I can easily backup my phone and laptop. I can easily share the files. Works great overall. I am satisfied with what I paid and what I got.
