I ended up returning this drive as I found it not as easy to set up as my previous cloud drive from WD.

I was skeptical given the reviews but not being tech tech savvyI had Geek Squad set it up.This is 4TB of cloud storage for a 1 time price of $180..Great value

Fantastic product. Value for money, The new one can be used as 100% personal cloud drive, because the n/w drive is accessible out side the home network too.

I was not able to upload files to the drive. The software only allowed for videos and pictures. I returned it.

Suppose to be seamless and save pictures. I have had pictures lost and not able to recover them. This was going to be a back up to saving pictures but I can’t trust it to save them. I wish I could return but am past my return period. I would give this zero stars.

I got tired of using one of my PC's as my Plex Server. This works perfectly fine for my needs.

Shows nothing through any of mac products, note it does work with them but cannot access any of them. Going on to WD notes (service and help with this model will not be available after #### date. Returned and bought Synology 220+ and 2 - 4TB HDD and works significantly better with RAID capabilities and can read all information with macs and time machine .

WD usually treats me well so im expecting it to last awhile! Fast transfer speeds

Allows easy back up of files from anywhere in house without need for USB connected external drive.

Having a hard times transfering multiple videos at once. Example, if i select 10 videos, 7-8 will transfer. I have to be careful I transfer all videos before deleting

I purchased this device for network attached storage and backup of our phones, MacBook, iPad, and notebooks. Backs up all devices when attached to the home network. Also great for centralized storage of our photos.

I had a previous MyCloud so I knew what I was buying into. But this is far worse and mostly because of outdated and incompatible instructions and above all a clueless and untrustworthy customer care. A small glimpse into the state of their affairs: https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/24148/kw/map#subject1 suggests this is how to map it as a network drive smb://MYCLOUD-last 6 digits of the serial number Example: smb://MYCLOUD-123456.local. Interestingly the whole serial number is alphanumeric and last 6 characters are numbers and letters. Needless to say, this didn't work. They force to install WD Discovery, which I could never make it work on my M1 Mac, as the instructions are again out of sync and I had no desire to try experimenting with this on recovery mode. I've wasted 2+hours and that's all I'll give them. Others - plz save the pain and find anything but this. I'll be returning this.

We use this to stream videos to all of our TVs and it works great. Uploading MP4 files can be a little bit difficult but definitely worth the time.

To start, shipping was awful. It said 2 day shipping and ended up being 4+ days. It took 2 days for it to leave the warehouse. I bought this to replace my older my cloud device. Upon receiving the unit, I was excited to migrate all of my data over and start fresh, but after setting up the drive, I noticed some rather ignorant short comings. This device is not as easy to manage. Everything is done through an ridiculously slow gui. You are not able to manually map the drive to your computer without the "desktop app." I was also unable to locate anywhere to setup a static ip address or encrypt the drive. These are not necessities, just wants, so I will move on. I spent the better part of 5 hours transferring my data over to this new device and setting up automatic backups. Then found out, you are not able to just run it as a dlna server for media sharing, you have to setup plex. I went through the process to get it setup and check out the new feature, but the data would never show up on the plex web app. I logged back in to the cloud device and noticed that the plex app was disabled (on its own). After several failed attempts to enable it and reboot the device, I noticed that all of the data I spent 5 hours loading onto the device was gone and no where to be found. I will be returning this hunk of junk back to the store and not getting another one, because the usability is over complicated and the functionality is less than satisfactory for an almost $200 device.

This drive allows access via the cloud only. If you want to access this drive via a local network, it will not allow access. You can install apps on your mobile devices to access the drive via the cloud also. Great little drive.

Won't work with HD Homerun dvr. Works with CHANNELS DVR app in conjunction with the HD Homerun tuner. So far not impressed. It has too many bugs for $8 a month.

This is a great way to be able to share pictures or files anywhere in the world. This beats emailing your pictures, just drop them in a common folder for everyone in you group to see.

Best in class for quality and price. Works great. Would buy it again.

my Old lady and I like to watch Andy Griffith show while we paint each other’s toenails. It a real pain to heal wobble to the DVD player to change seasons. No need to repair my MANecure now the HD streams just fine

Excellent backup for all our devices. Backs up straight from our phones and no reason to pay a monthly service fee.
