Needs work…
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.App on iPhone has technical issues with auto backup. Means not working. PC backup process fails every time using the device as mapped network drive. Write speed inconvenience even with wifi6 technology.

Great for convenience
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for picking what pictures to send over to it. Haven’t mastered how to set appropriate folders and such so it’s a mess in that aspect but that’s probably operator error

Wasted money and time
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this in January this year. Just a few weeks ago I discovered that their coverage or whatever you wanna call it upon this mycloud stops this year, June or July I believe. That means being away from home, out of town, anywhere away from your home network, you will not have access to the my cloud anymore. I don’t know if that makes me mad at the actual store, the manufacturer, or both. when things are that close to being obsolete, they need to quit selling it for what it is supposed to be.

Good for personal cloud bad for time machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.works well if you want a music service, iPhone backup and have your files available in a "personal cloud". Really poor when using it for time machine as time machine repeatedly fails.

Great for Pictures
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The WD My Cloud is an excellent product for storing pictures, etc. but is a bit clunky when trying to share files. Ended up returning it because it was easier to use Microsoft OneDrive.

Great disk for local cloud storage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this so that I could share files between our Mac and Windows computers. It works great and also gives a visual indication of whether we are connected to the internet through our provider.

Not a NAS. Cannot share files.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this today and I'm putting it right back in the box and returning it. It is NOT a NAS device. It is a personal storage device. Each user has their own private storage, which wouldn't be bad if you could share it. You can send a share link to other users and they can view the files (or just pictures) on their mobile device. But NOT on PCs. The only way to view shares on a PC is with a browser. So its only possible use case is as a phone backup with very occasional picture sharing but only between phones. After running into these problems, I found several threads on the WD community site of people complaining about this same problem and WD reps saying they were working on it - over a year ago. The most recent "update", according to the community site, was to remove the Family folder which would have been the only useful feature. The next "update" will likely remove WD Discovery which is the only way to access the drive on a PC.
