App on iPhone has technical issues with auto backup. Means not working. PC backup process fails every time using the device as mapped network drive. Write speed inconvenience even with wifi6 technology.

Not a very compliant NAS - really shouldn't even be called a NAS; it should be called a Limited File Sharing Device. SMB works for it's public share, but you cannot seem to transfer files via USB to the public share; you must use the network transfer process via SMB only for public access (DLNA, windows explorer, etc.). You cannot FTP, SFTP, SSH or SCP to this device. You cannot make private user files available in the public share location, nor can the user access public share files in the web interface to transfer files. If you want any of the functions of a typical NAS, this is not going to make you happy at all. Returning within 24hrs.

Using it as a network drive that multiple PC's automatically backup to. Can setup password protected folders and share files also. Works well.

Have purchased WD products before, always been good quality. Initially, this looked like it was going to be great, with backing up from my phone. The issue is you really have to use the app to access the drive. Using Windows Explorer is an exercise in frustration. There is not fix. They say your internet is slow, you need to reboot, but in reality, it's the product. If you dont 'want to access things from your computer, it might be ok. For me, total waste of money, with zero customer support.

I love this product. It's like having my files available from wherever whenever. It's private too so no third party has access to them.

I have had this device going on a month it was a nightmare to set up for what i needed. Now the thing is blinking white and does not allow me to access my files or log in supposed to be a easy personal cloud storage i find it very sketchy and WD is literally no help. DON'T RECOMMEND

This was pretty easy to set up, I feel much safer with my info now that it’s in my possession over the cloud storage offered by apple.

Simple plug and play installation. Can be set up to have multiple user accounts. Automatic file transfer from old W D Dr. to this new one was very convenient.

Do NOT buy this product. It was initially sold as a way to connect as a local drive on your computer. Western Digital removed this functionality and requires us to use the web-based app to get to our personal cloud devices! Furthermore, do download from the web app, you cannot select large amounts of files to download. Small amounts only. Furthermore, the web app is NOT easy to use. Lastly, I wish I had not invested in two of these to copy to one another. Planning to remove data and never purchase a WD product again.

The best gift for my husband on his birthday he love it nice upgrade he got older one and this one works excellent!!!!

Very pleased with this. We can access it from any one of five computers, some tablets and our phones. It has made file sharing and back up SO MUCH easier!

Second one purchased, this one was for a family member. Makes life so much easier when you need to share large amounts of data.

It is doing what I need it to do. Like it very much.

Good product but there is a lot of limitations is ease of operation. The backup should be seamless and not dependent on an app.

I got this so I could host a small “at home server” type deal. After researching I decided to go with this product and I couldn’t be happier!

I bought this to replace an older WD MyBookWorld II I've had for 10+ years. This newer version is far quieter and far faster. Happy so far.

Errors out continuously. I had to return it and subscribe to an online backup service.

this is a very useful home cloud storage device. Unfortunately, I have to return, as one of my friend gifted me the same device.

I find this personal cloud device very convenient. I do not have to pay any fees or worry if a hard drive would fail at any given time. Great device!
