I returned it because it was unsuitable for my laptop. The odd thing was since my laptop was in the hands of the Geek Squad expert, I should expect him to advise me of the usefulness of my selection. Perhaps that was too much.

can only share files over web if they are under 5gb. can not run my account software saved files from device, have to copy them to the pc i am using at that time, and replace the original with an updated file every time. Best Buy should remove this product. can not directly mount/map the drive. have to use WD discovery, which windows gives many warnings and does not show as certified. publisher unknown. on top of that i have to give/deny permission twice every time. this product is utter garbage. i would not have purchased it if there had been any other options in stock when i had to replace my old NAS in an emergency. I will never buy WD again. i don't know who this product is designed for, but i am not sure even they would want to use it. discontinue manufacturing. and take it off your shelves.

It backs up my data on a daily basis and I can access files, documents, music and photos from my Ipad.

This is my second personal cloud. I previously purchased a seagate product, which didn't last very long.

Installation was trivial. Connect to USB and power. Install drivers from WD. I chose to format as NTFS.

This Personal Cloud is much more user friendly than others I have owned. Price isn't bad either.
