Don't get this unless your job is tech hardware

Instructions were useless beyond the physical connections (which are obvious), but there was nothing for enabling use with my laptop through Wifi. Tried to get support from WD but all they did was send me links to online articles that didn't help. Tried for a couple of weeks then gave up and returned for refund.

Instead, it turned out to be a public server with all files going through the WD servers. Files are not easily accessed. And if you try to do a restore to your computer, you are SOL! You need to have windows up and running in order to access the backup? Defeats the purpose. This is not a NAS and shouldn't even be advertised with them. This is defiantly going back to Bestbuy.

A disappointment?

The ability to use offline on macOS is beyond poor, and not able to use time machine is well I won't be purchasing WD anymore. This is such a dispappointment I would suggest using another NAS device.

I should have done more research I will freely admit, this drive requires a login every time you load Windows with no option to save the login credentials, and no option to automatically log in.
