Product is not flexible

For instance, one cannot "ssh" to the Cloud Home and requires a mobile app to configure it. In addition, the amount of configuration is minimal. I chose to return this product.

Way too complicated

I was hoping for a way to use this device to backup my files as well as synchronize files across multiple computers on my network. There was no easy way to do this. I returned this and opted for a simpler WD 4tb portable drive and use it for backups only.

Doesn't support basic NAS features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm extremely disappointed with this product, and the older My Cloud (non-home) variety was a solid product line. Contrary to WD's advertising, this product is far inferior to the 'older' My Cloud series. The My Cloud Home doesn't support very basic NAS features such as shares, or using protocols like smb of afp for file sharing. It requires you to use their desktop app and doesn't even support creating network users or password protecting the network drives.

Waste of time and money

Nearly unusable transfer speeds
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It took 10 minutes to transfer 32MB of data (roughly 24 files) over a hardwired network connection with no other devices actively using the network. It also estimated 7 hours to transfer 140GB of music files. This drive also cannot be connected directly to your PC or Mac to directly transfer files over. I have hundreds of thousands of files, some 2 or 3TB. The only way I can get large files to work is to move them one by one, which is not a reasonable use of my time. I'll be looking for a better product.

Terrible experience

It went into a firmware update and 2 weeks later still not updated. WD support was poor at best, called every day to try things like wait for 24hr, unplug and plug the next day, reset button, call your isp provider to get logs, etc... gave up!
