I bought this when my old WD MyCloud device stopped working. When I brought it home and it did not work - it turns out that WD had a system outage for over a week that disabled local access to my data. For that reason, I would not buy another WD product. Local access should not be affected when they have a system outage.

I wanted to set something up with minimal effort. This accomplishes this. Obviously a full NAS would be a more robust option, but if you just want to "plug and play", this will work.

Not happy with this purchase.

Can't hook directly to Comput

Terrible experience

It went into a firmware update and 2 weeks later still not updated. WD support was poor at best, called every day to try things like wait for 24hr, unplug and plug the next day, reset button, call your isp provider to get logs, etc... gave up!
