This is the third WD backup system I’ve purchased (first one from Best Buy). The first one simply died after I had set it up for use. The second managed to live long enough to take all my files only to promptly lose them when it died. This one didn’t die, it simply got hung up on startup. Sure, the text-less instructions showed how easy it is to set up, but after 32 hours, it not only failed to initialize itself, it kept shutting off my cable. I got refunded for it and I swear on my life that I’ll never spend money on another WD product.

only good if all of your media comes from a trusted and verified source. All the music I have owned I ripped many years ago and WD explicitly states on their support page that this product will not stream any ripped content. This is not an option if you have music you purchased and personally ripped from your own Des using Windows Media Player.

Does not serve the purpose that I described to the individual helping me in the store. Mostly just for photos and that’s it.

It failed after 3 weeks and has now taken 4 days to reboot. Secret is you have to turn off scanning during setup as now the cloud is scanning 4TB of data. I have 80 movies on my cloud and fear I'll never be able to access them again.

not working app login . I what to just see it on my network. not have to use an app or other interface

After opening the box to find a completly diffent model drive in place of of the correct one, when i went to best buy to speck to someone to rectifie the issue this i was told that i needed to go to a another best buy to get help after he refused to do anything cause it wasnt sold in his store even when i had my receipt. I wasrnt even looking to return the item i just wantes what i purchased... SHAME OF YOU BEST BUY

Big issue is the desktop app does not let you share folders. You have to use the web browser for that. Really defeats the purpose of have a home shared drive.

Keep walking by. This is a piece of irritating junk. Takes forever to connect, you have to have internet connection to access your data, and cuts out anytime you're copying a large file or multiple files (even when copying directly to an SSD plugged into the usb port on the back!) This has almost made me swear to never buy WD again.

I bought this product and found out it was on deal when WD mycloud got hacked and lot of the personal data was stolen of users. This product doesn't even offer MFA.

Awesome cloud drive. Works wonders. Plenty of storage

Can’T get any one of my computers to recognize it. Have both Apple and Windows

I'm having a terrible time getting this connected to the Time Machine on my mac so I haven't been able to use it yet.

I bought this “Cloud drive” because it was allegedly an easy way for all of us to save and share photos and documents easily. Well, it was difficult to set up and then 4 weeks in, I go to find my HS Senior baby photos on the drive… IT IS CORRUPT! Everything I saved to this thing in the previous 4 weeks from several external drives and old computers- GONE!

I had a 4tb so 3 cloud that was not supported anymore so I upgraded and this guy is missing features the other had. Gets the job done but is awful if you have multiple users can’t see each others cloud storage and no admin account only way to map network drive is through Wd discovery

Great product but doesn't work correctly with a Chromebook.

Would not recommend.the item made a werid Noise after not even 1yr thank got i didnt trust the device and didnt dwte my photos off phone and still have. Was told to send device to WD who is in California. Called the customer service and was brushed off, reps Wouldnt give verbal instruction over the phone. Very unreliable device to buy!! Best buy products arent reliable to last long either.

Difficult to set-up and get everything to autobackup.

Not as easy to set up as it should be. Have trouble accessing it from multiple devices in our home network.

I feel really stupid not knowing how to use the My Cloud storage. No instructions came with the device, and I'm not what you would call "technically savvy". It does not seem user friendly like some devices. The one time I called, the customer support person was not very helpful. I feel I've purchased a pig in a poke.

One star because I'm returning it to the store (I'd give BestBuy 5 stars for this) - essentially this device is an "app" that includes a hard drive. The WD Discovery app would not install in Windows 7 and the drive just didn't show up on the network so it's not easily accessible for local storage - talking to WD support it seems that it's only accessible via their app.
