DO NOT BUY I REPEAT DO NOT BUY THIS.. Second time having to buy this because the first one stopped working randomly and this time i transferred my files from my laptop to the hard drive and it instantly stopped working

Instructions for setting up this device were not clear. It did not save my files properly. I contacted the companies support via chat. I tried to explain the issues that I was having and the only thing they would do is route me back to their online instructions which were not clear, and the reason I contacted them in the first place. I would not recommend this product to anybody and will never by one of these items again.

Couldn’t get to work even after taking unit back to geek squad to see if product was good. Then got other product that worked without problems.

I may not recommend this external USB...i bought a new HP Spectre 13" laptop. I hooked this portable hard drive and the Spectre did NOT automatically recognize the hard drive...one has to go to the process of Settings and configurations. the WD developer should make it easy to have a plug and play feature and NOT for the consumer to figure it out and the instructions are NOT simple... On Sept 25, computer would not turn on, completely dead. No power at all. numerous attempts to turn it on but no luck. Have an appointment today at 11:30 am with Geek Squad to retrieve my pictures if possible, If I cannot recover my pics, I will never purchased an HP again and I have used HP computers for years. very upset and disappointed

This guy failed on me within a month. I purchased it exclusively to back a laptop harddrive that was getting worked on. And once the work was started and the data was no longer available on my macbook, the drive failed so I was out of luck (the worst) and when I brought it back to Best Buy I was unable to return it or exchange it.

I wanted to back-up and store some stuff off my Apple computer. I formatted it for IOS but would not start a back-up. Called for help and spent at least an hour on the phone with a nice representative of the Geek Squad but he could not get it to work. I returned it and received a prompt refund.

It was not used as I purchased it at the time I dropped off my computer. As BB was not able to fixe my computer and therefore I wasn't able to copy my items to the external drive, I had no need for the item. As it was not opened and never left the store, it was returned. My rating reflects the service received not the product.

Only worked for a couple of months now my two desktop mac and Microsoft along with a Microsoft laptop will not read it took it to get it checked and they said it would be $ 200 so much for hav your work backed up to this

had to return - too difficult to integrate with MacBook Pro.

This was not a good buy for me, turned out to not work for me at all. Im actually returning it. The sales associate who said its what I need have knowledge to what I really needed.

Hi, I returned home an hour ago after purchasing A new HP laptop, MSFT 365 and a WD 1TB MY PASSPORT Hard drive, only to discover that the hard drive was not in the large bag the store clerk gave me. I have been unable to reach the store (It is an hour away). What do I do?

This only worked for a few weeks. It has been a great disappointment. WD walked me through reformatting it, but it only lasted a few weeks again.

Really difficult to use. I had to return unable to use.

I will not purchase this product again. The drive failed and I've lost all of my important client data on it. Keep giving error message device is not avilable

I lost all of my media and files. This hard drive has not been good from the start. I have been doing everything right and it’s been nothing but trouble. I wish I never bought it and backed my media and files on it. I’m so upset right now. Do not buy.

Not sure how to use it and it wasn't explained how to use it when I picked up my laptop from Geek Squad. I will not recommend Geek Squad in the future. I cannot respond to below questions as I don't know how to use product.
