A great assistant to save those crucial files that you cannot live without.

This drive does its job. You plug it in and it's an extra drive. I suggest using for general files, music, images, videos. This is a slow drive, so I don't suggest installing programs or games on it. Otherwise, this is a perfectly adequate extra drive. Tips: *Don't leave powered on for weeks, may not be very endurant. *Don't try using as boot drive for operating system/Windows, USB hard drives are typically non-bootable. *If drive fails soon after purchase, return & replace. or RMA. Have important files backed up to your preferred method. *Be gentle. How to make an external drive instead, for those who are inclined: *Buy a "SATA III to USB 3.0 adapter" cable, make sure it supports 2.5" and 3.25" drives. *Buy 2.5" or 3.25" SSD or HDD of choice (I would buy NEWER Seagate Barracuda 2TB ST2000D-M003 for hard drive, and WD Blue 3D NAND 500GB for SSD). *Buy an "external hard drive enclosure" matching form factor of drive selected. Not necessary for 2.5" SSD only, because they are already enclosed in a shell.
