Don't buy this for a Backup Drive - it won't work!

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I asked for help buying a backup drive for my laptop and the WD My Passport was recommended to me. I bought it, but I can't use it as a backup drive because it is incompatible with Windows 11. W11 sees it as a portable drive, not a fixed drive and therefore won't use it for backup. I'm totally frustrated!!

I have no need to store multiple copies of the Encyclopedia Britanica so this is way more than needed to back up some picture files and a few spread sheets. Mea culpa. Not the fault of the unit, just lack of research on my part.
