However, I could not figure out how to set it up on my Macair. Even a friend who is more tech savvy couldn't do it. I had to take it to a computer store to install the software. Now that I've figured out how it works, I guess it is. But I wouldn't know how to check.

No password protection

WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WAS! I had to enter a password which I thought was for password protection but turns out it’s not. Seems there’s no way to easily add password protection to this WD model (or maybe not at all). I asked for help but the response I got was blah, blah, blah, passport, blah, blah, blah… go to this link to see how to MAYBE do what I asked. What’s the point of a device with personal information and files that you can’t password protect? If I hadn’t passed the 14 day limit, I’d return it but, instead, I’ll erase it and use it as a shiny paperweight. Thanks for nothing WD and Best Buy.
