This hdd serves its purpose well as a traditional storage device. Being that it’s a spinning disk, it is not as fast as the SSD external drives, but it’s much less money. I’d recommend this for long term storage

It's small compact it does the job that I wanted it to do, it's easy to use and I enjoy using it as yet I have not had a crash on my regular hard drive but if I do I shall have my external hard drive to backup my files, good product, and the person that help me find it and purchase it was a good person to. Thank you Best Buy

Great external hard drive… I bought this hard drive to store all my photos on an all movies. Also keep a back up of my documents on there. Plug-and-play easy to work and comes with the ability to password protect for keeping documents private. Would definitely recommend this to anybody who needs extra storage or back up

What's not to love with the WD My Passport 1TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive?! It's sleek in black and just connects via the USB on the side of my laptop. Silent while backing up. Simple white light flashes while doing so. The WD brand is always reliable. Can't beat the Best Buy price either!

This is a great external hard drive, for beginners ! So very easy to set up and used. This storage device has saved me more times than I can count ! I just LOVE IT!!!!!!! Would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone, who need this type of extra storage for their computers.

I bought this solely as a backup drive for my new HP laptop. Comes with WD Backup software which is easy to configure and setup. I plug in the drive every week or so to do a backup and it has worked fine so far. I've had a series of WD external backup drives and never had a problem with any of them.

I absolutely love My Passport for storing information and being able to easily share information from one computer to another. Also storing on My Passport keeps documents off my hard drive I don't access frequently. This was a value price and simple to use. I would recommend this product.

Easy to connect and then you just let it do its job. Awesome for backup on my computer. My computer tech referred me to the Passport 1TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive and I am so happy he did. Now I have all my important info stored automatically every time I use my computer.

I owned a similar item called Click Free. Twice I had a computer to become 'un repairable' and was able to restore all my stuff onto the new computer. I purchased the Passport to back up everything on my latest computer. My biggest fear is always that I will lose my photos. The Passport gives me assurance that my photos are safely backed up. I did not give 5 stars because I have not had to 'restore' anything from it yet, so I cannot attest that it will work - but, I have no reason to doubt it.

Bought it because my old laptop was failing and I needed something to back up my data. I'm glad to have it.

I bought this to have additional storage for my PS4. The console detected it and allowed me to set it up as extended storage quickly with no issues. Installed games run just as well off of this external hard drive as they do installing it directly to the internal drive. Good value for the money.

Great external hard drive although it needed to be reformatted before being able to be used with my MacBook

I purchased a Aluratek digital tuner which has a USB port to allow recording of programs to an external HD or flash drive like a DVR. I first tried the flash drive which worked great but fills up fast. This external HD attaches to the USB port which also powers the HD. The only problem I encountered at first the drive was not recognized for recording but the tuner has a function to format the drive. After formatting the drive, it then worked. It works great and offers lots of storage (recording) space. It was on sale and I considered getting the 2tb for $35 more but as I have learned with having a TiVo, more storage makes me lazy and I store recordings for months or years without ever watching them. So, l decided to save the money and be more proactive keeping up with watching what I record. The HD and tuner work great together. I have only had this for about two weeks so I don't know how long it will last.
