||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.True plug-n-play, quiet, surprisingly cool running for a HDD compared to SSDs; the WD-MY Passport runs at an internal 71'F, same as my SSDs !! Good value. I have not yet tried the security software that comes with it so cannot comment on that.

Indispensable backup for files
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Before work was done on a balky hard drive, the tech suggested I get an outboard 1 TB backup drive instead of sending everything to the cloud, which sounded pretty risky. We did that with my wife's computer and never found the files again! The Passport drive worked first time, quietly backed up the whole drive quickly and is easily accessed just like the original drive. It's a permanent part of the system now.
