I backed up my files from three different computers on this and didn't have a single problem. I backed up from Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows 10 and didn't have a single hiccup. This worked perfectly for this non-techy. I highly recommend it!

While the write speeds aren't amazing, it does manage to handle steam libraries nicely, however more demanding games (triple a open world type) might get slow loading textures at times. As a plus it comes with software so that Mac OS can write to this device as the default file system of the drive is NTFS (which Mac OS can only read from without the included software), just be sure to save a copy of the default software installer in case you decide to reformat the drive.

we care about loss of photos and files. this seems to be working. it is programmable and low cost protection

Happy with the purchase. Nice price for a 1TB drive. Low profile and powered by USB vs an external supply. Nice for travel as well.

Always back up your data. 1T should last a while...

This was a good price for a 1T hard drive; easy to use;

Portable hard drive makes laptop back up simple and automatic. Better than cloud storage because there is no additional cost to maintain all your photos and documents forever and you know right where they are when you need them, even if traveling in areas with poor or non existent Internet service.

I needed a low cost solution to expand the disk on my Xbox One and WD never fails to satisfy that requirement. I gave my son my previous external WD and bought this one for myself. It just plugs in and the power and data transfer work off of the included USB 3 cable. It is low profile so it does not take up much space.

I have used WD back up for many years. I have never had issues and all I do is set it up and let it do its thing.

Easy setup, Gives me confidence of saving my work in case of a computer breakdown or transferring files to a different computer.

This WD Passport is easy to install and schedule backups. However if you have a lot of documents, images and videos to backup, I suggest you pick one category at a time, because it could take a very long time to back up everything at once. It does come in different colors, but Best Buy only had 1 color on the shelf.

Love the size, easy to keep in purse to use as need.
