I use this unit to backup all my data files, photos, Etc. This way I have minimal effort to recover all my files in case of a PC crash. I used to use USB flash drives. Burt now I can back everything up in one place, on one devise. It is very convenient and fast.

After I picked up from Best Buy, I tested it out in the store and it automatically detected and asked to format. Took me an hour to back everything up. Pretty decent. I’ll backup once a month and this is more than enough for any 512GB-1TB computers/laptops. Definitely a must have because you don’t know what’ll happen to your system. ALWAYS BACK UP your data on external drive.

My favorite color is blue so I was happy when this hard drive wasn’t black! Bought this portable hard drive to be able to hook up to my tv and to backup my laptop! Super easy to use, nothing to figure out - just plug in and go!

In an attempt to not tax my HD, I am downloading programs to my computer, but downloading/storing the data on the Passport. It will take me a long while to fill up the space on this and this way if my computer becomes compromised, I won't lose my data.

Purchased this unit for the purpose of backing up my laptop and desktop. Following the instructions, it was simple to use, and before I unplugged it, I checked to see if the files had copied to the ex-drive. I plan to back-up quarterly.

This is my second one I have purchased, I needed something to hold all my scanned photos and I didn't want to have more than one external hard drive/flash drive. This is a good size and it's not very bulky. I can put it in my purse when I need to take it somewhere.

Had no problem using this product I use Windows 10 and the transfer rate is good.

I bought this for my nephews and they loved it. They hook it up to the Xbox One and about 10 minutes and just went off from there. So if you want to look like a superhero uncle just go ahead and buy them and then blam easiest superhero Uncle ever.

I did it!!!! Finally, I will not have numerically stacked cds with all my camera photos downloaded to it. My husband always did the transferring which always confused him and I had 480 discs already. This will be fantastic (well, once I get used to it).

I bought this hard drive to save my photos and videos. This is my 4th WD hard drive that I have purchased over the last few years. All have worked very well so far. Hence WD has won my loyalty. This is a good brand and they produce reliable portable hard drives.

this WD portable drive does what it is suppose to do. It was easy to setup and run. I plug mine in on first day of month to download all new information, This product is great to have and easy to use.

I needed something that would work to transfer my documents when I bought a new computer. This has worked with PC as well as with my Mac book. I still use it to store my photos just incase my computer ever fails and lose all my photos.

Protect your valuable documents just by plugging it in. It's small enough (and attractively designed) to keep plugged in. Set the update schedule that works for you and forget it! In today's day and age, everyone should have an external hard drive!

This 4TB (yes it is 4TB) drive is small considering it's storage capacity. Comes with back-up software and is very efficient at backing up all your data. Comprehensive User's Manual is available on the internet and covers all aspects of the drive. Good value.

I was skeptical at first if this device would be big enough to back up 2 computers. I was greatly surprised! After backing up 2 computers I still had more than half of the external hard-drive left. Quick back up too!

I'm a big fan of Western Digital's hard drives, and this one is no exception. It's got a new redesign that makes it look like a mini PS4 (AKA it looks good). I've had this drive for a few months now and it still is working great! Absolutely zero complaints here!
