The external hard drive works well. Have not had any problems.

With help from my amazing Geek Squad team, my new external hard drive now provides me with more confidence in saving my important data and gives me the ability to move my records to new pcs as I upgrade as needed,

I picked this up on sale and it is a great value in terms of storage. However, the hardware encryption functionality apparently requires installation of WD Discovery. As part of the install process, you have to decide if you want to share data with WD (ostensibly typical system functionality info). However, what is not made clear is that by selecting 'No', the software WILL NOT INSTALL. Multiple online users report the same issue but that it magically installs when 'Yes' to data sharing is installed. So, I will have to use another mechanism for encryption because I refuse to have mandated data sharing.

It works great with in HP laptop. Only downside is that I also wanted to backup my old Apple iMac - once the Passport has been used with one type of system it will not also work with the other.

I got this (in local store) to expand the storage capacity of my satellite TV recordings. Plugged it into my receiver and after I allowed it to be automatically reformatted, it is working and I'm pleased! Saved $5 by choosing red instead of blue or black.

Neat device. Affordable and stores a lot of data. Works well with windows 10.

My daughter's laptop didn't have enough memory on it for all her projects but it still works well otherwise so was glad to get this external hard drive so she didn't have to spend the money to buy a new laptop just yet.

Compared to the prior generation of Western Digit passport with 256 bits AES hardware encryption, this portable hard driver is way thinner and light weight. With 2TB (around 1.81TB actually), you’ve got plenty of backup space. For additional $10, you can get the Passport Ultra version from Best Buy, but they are pretty similar except for the USB interface. The cool thing is that it comes with a free one year cloud subscription.

Western digital ext hard drives let me down a few years ago so i was reluctant to go with another external drive from them. I usually only use Seagate but this WD model was suprisingly very especially for the price. Good job Western Digital.

Very fast when it comes to saving your receipts! The feature of also adding a password is neat if your saving important information. I would recommend!

I love these drives! This is my second one - the other I have had for a year now and it is durable, i.e. I carry mine around in my backpack, and reliable. I have owned others that have failed so it is refreshing to have a go-to product for saving my files.

Ran out room on my other hard drive. Because I like this brand, I purchased this one but with double the space. Plus red is a good color and was a few dollars cheaper so it was. Win-win. Bought it for my husband who uses it for his Xbox games.

I had the WD easystore 4 TB hard drive, but it did not handle the concrete walkway I dropped it on too well. This is what I purchased to replace it with. It seems to be working quite well. Using it mainly for school work, but intend to use it for music projects as well.

Needed 1 to replace an older 1 acting as a backup drive for my pc. I trust Western Digital more than the others and this came in on the mark as far as price and size capacity. It also arrived earlier than projected, which is always a plus.

Good place to begin if you're looking to back up your work. Especially if it's a lot of pictures. These take a lot of space. The size is great, big enough to locate reasonably easy. While a thumb drive may be able to back up a lot of data, they are also easy to lose.

Lightweight, slim profile, large storage capacity. I like the color -- makes it easy to find.
