    This review is based on using with macOS so I can't comment for windows. Upon plugging it in for the first time, it was quickly recognized and mounted. The drive has been dropped more than a few times on the carpeting with seemingly no ill-effect. While I find the data transfer speeds to be unremarkable, they are acceptable to me for its use as a back up drive.

    I use this drive to back up files with Time Machine. It does a good job. I had no problems installing and starting the back up process.
