perfect! First thing you should do is reformat your new external drive as soon as you plug it in to get it started.

The WD- My Passport is a durable, high quality portable hard drive. I still have my old one that I purchased 6 years ago, and it's still going strong.

Works good and is quiet as a mouse. I used it to create a backup and image of two computers after partitioning the drive into 4 segments.

I needed to back up my Linux computer and Passport was specifically recommended to me by several friends. So far I have successfully used this device with nno more trouble than any other device or product. It seems to be holding onto the hype of my friends and colleagues and is faster than I expected even on my older computer. Transfer between device and computer through my USB 3.0 is almost as fast as moving to fully mounted drives for me. For those who are interested, I am using a Toshiba Satellite C55T with Linux Mint Mate 19.3. Thumbs up for this device.

bought it to hold my finances. Great if you need to bring them somewhere. And also if your computer crashes it has all that important information.

Whenever I need storage I can always count on WD and so far this external HDD has been my go to whenever I need to store critical files and also I needed encryption which is the main reason I got this product. Any external HDD that has hardware encryption is a MUST because security is so important as you do not want anyone to see your important files. Only thing that might concern me is the caddie as its a hard plastic somewhat reasonably stable but with any HDD you must be gentle with it because of the platters and spin header so make sure to be careful with it.

Good and ease of use. Worth the price and works well.
