Returned it in store with no issues. Other than that it does the job. Will it last? We will find out

I have another but this one was SS. Should've been plug and play. Nope! Could not get it to work. Went to WD's website; no luck. Took it into Geek Squad. They said that WD no longer bundles their software or has it as a download as they can't keep up with the changes/updates in the OS. Geek Squad was able to sync it and create a desktop icon. Luckily, I have Geek Squad support so it didn't cost me anything but a consumer shouldn't have to do what I did. The product description should carry that caution.

Note price varies from month to month. Appears to be always on sale.

The last one I purchased in October literally was having issues connecting to my Mac and today (literally from of my eyes) it wiped itself almost clean of most of my data. Won't show up on my Mac finder and when I finally got it to show up, the name extension changed and over 95% of my files were missing.

Thing doesn't work and keeps disconnecting. Tried another external to test connection and it worked perfectly fine. This thing is also extremely small, runs hot, and as stated I find it has connection issues with my 2022 macbook pro. Returning it as soon as I can and I've only had it for 3 days.

The new one works ok, but next time will buy another brand, do not recommend for active use (photography, design etc)

I purchased in March 2021 as a backup drive, and it stopped working on Feb. 8, 2022. Expect a much longer life span!

It will randomly crash my brand new iMac and MacBook Pro. Then yesterday I received a warning when I plugged it in saying it could not be repaired, to back everything up ASAP. But too late - some of my stuff had magically disappeared. Luckily was able to run some recovery software on it and get back some of my lost work. I've used WD for years with no issues - but this one I've had nothing but problems since day one. It's being replaced TODAY
