||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these things - hold plenty of data, small form factor for mobility, fast, etc. When they work, they're worth 10 stars! The problem is that nothing lasts forever and it seems to be the luck of the draw (for me) whether or not these last more than 8-10 months...So "this" one is a geek squad replacement for a 10-month old unit that just died...all things considered though, I STILL highly recommend them!!

LG Ultra Slim Portable DVD Writer

The player worked well for a while. But, I went to copy files this morning and the mini USB Connector in the back pushed inside the CD frame work. I called LG and they are exchanging the device rather quickly since it is within the warranty period. Thank you LG!

Currently I am using it as a password protected backup drive for my new MacBook Pro and love it. Extra backup security never hurts and this drive fits the bill.
