Works as needed just kind of a slow copy speed! I returned it because it took 3hrs to copy a 1tb over.

I had to return it. Didnt work for me. I have a Samsung Z Fold.

Worked initially to get my MAC backed up, however it is having problems with doing the automatic back ups.

I had high hopes for this one but ultimately due to worse speeds and throttling than their My Book series, this was returned. If you just need a backup, this will do the trick but if you want something you can regularly make use of, then you would be better off with a cheap SSD or more premium full size 3.5" SATA drive.

It worked great for about 4 months but has suddenly stopped working. The laptop or computer cannot recognize the device nor access it or any of my files. Unfortunately, I have lost all of my work files costing me hundreds of hours of work. I do have my original unedited files backed up but this malfunction of the device has cost me money and time.

Drive quality can be better. Drive is very fragile. Cable port broke next day.

Great value for backup, but not a speed demon. Using it to archive files that won't be accessed frequently.

Its good for memory but for what i wanted to use it for it was not for me.

this is the 3rd and last WD external drive I will buy. It is formatted to work with both OS's. I am having the same issue that I had with previous ones. After about a month it is no longer readable on the MacOS. Not a good drive if you are using the two operating systems with it.

Using for an iMac time machine. Seem to be a slow transfer rate.

Really cheap broke easily would recommend using if a DJ

Great but the package it came in was banged up and the plastic had been cut open.

This will be the last WD Drive. Purchased in Aug 2019 died for no apparent reason Feb 4 2020.... aged 6 months. All data lost. Terrible product!... do as I am doing... head for the cloud! And to think that I was going to buy a bigger one for my own cloud. Piece of junk! Lost hours of drone footage!! Hard lesson learned so you do not need to.

I purchased this drive which failed after my first backup operation. I returned it within the return window and got a replacement. The replacement died also after the first backup so I did a warranty claim with WD. The replacement drive I received worked for one day and failed without me even running a backup. DO NOT BUY THESE. THEY ARE DEFECTIVE.

Failed after 6 months, almost daily usage as a Apple Time Machine backup drive (approx. 90 minutes per backup) ONLY. Disk was spinning but macOS was unable to mount the drive.

I backed up my hard drive nightly and I thought I was covered. When I had to get a new computer I found out there was no way to restore my backups to my new computer.

Piece of Junk quit working properly after maybe a year. Sometimes the computer recognizes it and it starts up and most of the time it doesn't. I don't have this issue on much older drives.

I purchased one of these in 5TB to use for backing up data on my mac desktop. The drive died in 2 weeks. I then purchased this 4TB drive after getting a refund for the first. This one died in one month. I kept this sitting on my desk and never moved it. I have been very gentle with it. The return window is over, so I need to try and get a replacement or refund from the manufacturer. I have had several other fulll size WD external drives dies on me in the past, but they usually lasted about 3-4 years. I cannot trust Western Digital with any of my important files.

No user friendly for the iMac. I returned this and order another brand that worked greatS
