This thing is almost unusable. Sometimes you can screw around and get a password in and it is great, but no matter what you do in some cases you never can get the security password set. The software you get with it never works, the security software you download works sometimes... I bought 3 and took 2 back.... The support for these also sucks. You end up on a WD community page where everyone is complaining of the same problem, but there is no solution.

Works perfectly as intended for large file transfers. Using this to store video(s) and larger files that won't transfer or store on web based drives.

It's working well so far with reasonable read and write speeds. Hardware encryption is included as well. I wish it had USB-C port!

The Geek support was excellent and they backed up my computer.

I've bought many Passport external hard drives. I save in the cloud but I like this option as well. I bought this in a bundle but did not need to spend so much in the end when a smaller hard drive would work as well.

Reformatted with Exfat and didn't work on a mac. Then, disk repair utility, managed to fix it but it took several attempts. Now seems to work, but I'm not gonna trust it and have secondary backups.

Quick and easy pick up. Safe during COVID crisis and quarantine.

Probably not BB fault, but it was old technology. The USB cord attached to WD Passport, that I 'attempted' to plug into a 1-year-old Dell laptop computer, was the same one sold 5 years ago for my old computer. WD, I have always loved your external hard drives, but I returned this one because you told me I could order an upgraded USB connector from your site. Do you really expect people to spend $130 on old technology, attempt to hook it up, only to find out they need to order a new adapter because you failed to add to a 2021 piece of technology???

Great value, if time is not of the essence. Works for file archiving when you're not in a hurry.

Without being a computer expert, something as simple as backing up files onto the device, was not that simple.

Western Digital External Hard Drives are reliable. I own about about 10 of them & I have never one fail. I hope that they stay always reliable.
